Thom Yorke for Idioteque & for foreseeing the apocalypse.

Also Conor Oberst, Ben Gibbard, Nick Drake, & Ben Folds(underrated lyricist).

take a look at the only sensible answer of the first page.

not gonna lie though i appreciate brand new's and fall out boy's lyrics even though they hold no substance. just a different kind of art as far as im concerned.

ahha but seriously, brand new has amazing, meaningful lyrics
max bemis (say anything) writes amazing metaphors in his music
i like bring me the horizon's lyrics because theyre honestly amusing
thrice is just lyrically amazing
same thing goes with crica survive

jesse lacey, max bemis, dustin kensrue, and anthony green should be considered gods compared to some of the bands these days

Jesse Lacey (Brand New), Tomas Kalnoky (Streetlight Manifesto), Casey Crescenzo (The Dear Hunter), and Dustin Kensrue (Thrice) amaze me again and again every time any of the respective bands come out with an album and I listen to and read the lyrics.
