Which bands should make a full-length acoustic album?

My choices off the top of my head so far...

1) Yellowcard - If they would do one, I might become a fan again. They sound a billion times better when they do acoustic songs

2) Piebald

3) Rise Against

4) Between The Buried And Me - maybe just an ep instead...rather have a regular album :lol2:

I think it would be cool if either Blink182 or Jimmy Eat World made acoustic albums, or just EPs. I could hear both of them doin that. Maybe Green Day.

Alkaline Trio would be interesting.

I would also like to see the guy from FATA that does the singing...do an acoustic side project.

Thrice and Rx Bandits are what I'd like to see.

I really liked the acoustic set Thrice has from the Apple store and I liked a lot of the acoustic or simplified versions of the RX Bandits songs that they have on their DVD.

The whole acoustic thing is played out, and most bands that do it these days, suck at it.

Listen to some of Alkaline Trio's earlier stuff and find the acoustic songs. Also, Green Day used to make a lot of acoustic songs too.

Jim Adkins should release the Go Big Casino stuff. That would sort of be like a JEW acoustic CD.

Of all the bands to release an acoustic cd, I'd think a pop-punk band garner the worst possible result. It'd probably be a good idea to pick a band that doesn't have to hide behind reverb and jumpy rhythms and pick a band that actually has a clue about structure or melody. That's not saying they aren't good bands, they'd just put out a terrible acoustic cd.

That being said, I can't think of one band that has never done an acoustic song that would actually do justice to one.

They aren't just acoustic, but they use an acoustic guitar in a lot of their older stuff. The only green day song I know of that is just acoustic is Good Riddance.

I'd say Brand New, but they have enough acoustic songs scattered around that I could make an acoustic album out of them.

So I'd say Muse maybe, or The Get Up Kids. Maybe just something like Senses Fail or My Chemical Romance just to see how bad they sound acoustic

How about a Say Anything acoustic EP?

grindcore bands should do acoustic side projects, i'd love to hear that
a lot of them actually have really good lyrics and it'd be interesting to hear them acousticly

Senses Fail actually did have an acoustic version of The Ground Folds on their From the Depths of Dreams EP and it fucking rocked

i would have 2 agree on Yellowcard mayb their accustic aol crap was bad but that one song by them "rough draft" is really fun to play accoustic and its actually got a little classical style finger patterns which u dun find very often in accoustic pieces by pop punk bands and they suck now so i cant imagine them getting any worse then they have bcome already....
