AHH YAY SNOWBOARDING!

Can you tell that I love snowboarding? hahaha. I've been snowboarding since I was like, 12. I did comps and stuff last year and the year before and was sponsored last year by Burton and this local board shop. This year I took off because it was my first year uni, but I'm still trying to go every weekend. :D

LUCKY. I get a seasons pass to Sunshine every year and put it to good use, but free is so much better! I work at a skate/board/surf shop so I get discounted merch and boards and stuff, which is always good. Sometimes I get some of the preview promo stuff, like boots and bindings. It's a pretty sweet set up :D

i ski. i've snowboarded before, it was fun, never got into it though because in high school i always played b-ball and i never had time to get on the mountain and practice.

I've wanted to snowboard for a super long time. I ski because my dad and grandpa ski, so I got their old skis for free and they could teach me. I've been meaning to try it for a while, but I'm already fairly decent at skiing, so I never wanted to spend the extra money on renting/buying snowboard equipment when I have skiing stuff for free and I already know how to do it. I've got to try it one of these days though.

Who here has started out skiing for a while and then tried to switch over and snowboard? How hard of a transition is it? I've skateboarded since junior high, so I assume that would help, but I'm just wondering how hard it is to make the change from skiing to snowboarding.

i think i skiied before i snowboarded......yea i did. i got bored with skiing after a year so i started snowboarding. but that was like 6 years ago and i skateboarded befor i snowboarded and it kinda helped with my balance......

yea, i love my dominant. its an older version. its kick ass. my boots are the women's saloman vigil boots.

i like being one of the only "good" girls at my mountain. not many girls are actually good. they just go up to flirt with all the dudes. but i can do that while i'm working. hahaha

I skied then I broke my leg and switched to snowboarding and have been doing it since. I used to live in Denver and we would go up twice a month but now I live on a freaking island with nothing that resembles snow or a mountain.

same... the girls here just go to flirt so they never really practice. which means i get to go on the diamond slopes with the guys when the girls can't do it haha

i just started snowboarding. I just bought a Burton on sale..went for 500, got it for 300, luckily my boyfriends brother works at a local shop around here so he got me good deals on everything. I got the bindings, board and boots(all really good) for under 500. So yeah, basically Im ready to go. Ive gone a few times, and done pretty well, but when me, my boyfriend and his brother go, thatll be the real test for me.

I just got a new Burton Troop for like, 60% off, its pretty sweet and handles soooo well. I've only been out 5 times since the season opened, but the weather has been too warm and the fresh snow is non existant. Boarding on fake stuff doesn't have the same feeling.

Come on Calgary!! Where's snow when you want it?!
