We already have a least favorite so I figured I'd make a favorite. Mine is abnormal psychology, the subject matter is awesome and my professor is the most popular professor on campus. It's probably my favorite class I've taken in college.

I've only been in school for four days, so I've only actually been to my classes 1-2 times. I'm predicting that my Fashion History class to be my favorite.

Edit: I was right. It's like one big gossip hour.

I really like my Italian class. I didn't think I would enjoy it since I'm pretty sure learning a language is going to be hard at this age, but the professor is really great about it.

I have a censorship class that I love. We're learning about the history of it as well as watching a bunch of censored or banned materials. Any class where you watch George Carlin on the first day has to be awesome, right? Plus, I love the professor (I've had her before and she's my adviser).

Television Criticism will probably be both my favorite and least favorite class because the topic is amazing, but the work required is a lot and incredibly difficult. I'm also enjoying Journalism and American Culture as well. Yay for being a Mass Media Coms major!

It's brilliant. I was going to buy one of the DVD sets at Barnes & Noble last night but I can't afford to spend $40 right now. It was such a sad moment in my life, haha. I remember when the finale aired, I was so bummed.

My Oral History class is awesome. We are each getting an older community member from Chinatown and we get to do an hour long interview with them, and then all the interviews are going to be compiled and put into an exhibit at a museum.

I have a Spanish teacher whose Professor was Noam Chomsky. I thought you might find that interesting. What's even more interesting is that this guy majored in Linguistics, went to MIT, and he's teaching high school level Spanish as his main job.

Anyways, even though this thread is for people in college, my favorite class has got to be Studies of Mystery/Horror

That is really awesome! We're reading a few of Chomsky's books this semester.

What are you guys focusing on in Studies of Mystery/Horror? Do you read any Edgar Allan Poe?

Disasters: Geology vs. Hollywood.
We watch clips of movies with shitty effects and discuss if what happens in them is geologically possible. It's apparently one of the more popular classes, and it's fun. Our prof. went a little batshitcrazy today and kept rambling about volcanoes when we were trying to leave after he fell asleep during the video we were watching at least four times. I couldn't stop laughing.

Haha yeah it's really cool. My teacher said he actually has some of his writings published in some linguistics book.

Well, we just finished watching Silence Of The Lambs, and now we're reading some book on Ed Gain and some other serial killers. We're doing other fun stuff too soon like writing short stories and what not. I don't know if we are going to read any Poe, but I've read a few of his stories and liked them. I'll probably read more soon.

I am taking a total of 3 courses this semester. Im a TESL major (Teaching English as a Second Language). The curriculum development course has been fun so far. It was a bit intimidating because I have a background in translation not teaching. I havent started the Intercultural Communication course yet (that starts this weekend). The other course Im taking deals with sociopolitical issues in ESL. That class has been interesting as well. Its really hard to say which one is my favorite thus far....I will probably wait til after December to answer your question again.

I like all my classes so far! I'm taking art 2D design & color, public speaking, concepts of math (the easist math, I'm ok at it, but I'm an art type not a numbers type!) and Nutrition, but it's REALLY cool cos it's not like we're studying stuff and whatever, we're recording out diets and changing what we're doing. We saw SuperSize Me, and it was my second time and I got all obsessive--even though I've been a vegetarian for almsot 10 years! hehee

But as for favorites, mine are art and public speaking

I know I'm still in High School, but I'll participate regardless.

For me, History by far. I just love learning about INTERESTING parts of History. Socials 8, 9 and 10 were all about either Canadian issues and history, the French Revolution and stuff like that. Socials 11 was more about the major wars of the 20th Century, but from Canada's point of view mostly. History 12 delves into multiple countries history in-depth, which I love. All in the 20th Century again, but it's just so interesting that it isn't a big deal.
