Guitar Hero Or Rock Band HELP

Whats up gamers, got a quick for ya. I bought an xbox 360 today on a little shopping spree and I would like to know what I should pick up....guitar hero or rock band 2 (once it comes out). Like which one is funer, plus there are like 8 versions of each and I get confussed.

I've honestly never played either game, but hear such great things so I figure why not. Here's my bigger question. Is the drums on rock band anything like playing real drums? Im more interested in playing drums then guitar on Rock Band 2. I wish they created a sweet drum kit to the point where in the game u are playing like one of those 2000$ electronic drum kits. Or is Rock Band more or less just hitting 3 pads and cant really tach u anything about drums?

Guitar Hero drums are more realistic. They have a snare, two toms, two symbols, and a kick. Rock Band only has one symbol.

But the songs, downloadable content, only play, graphics, are all better on Rock Band.

They are also coming out with a more expensive drumkit for the games that can be plugged into an amp so you can play "real" electronic drums. It's like 300 bucks though.

I'm personally thinking of getting the Guitar Hero package and then just get the Rock Band 2 disc so that I can use my old Rock Band instruments.

Guitar Hero.

The guitar is way harder and a lot more fun, unless you're in a group.

If you're thinking about drums I'd wait to check out GH. I'm personally not that impressed with the song list for RB2 but I guess that comes with personal taste. However if you're down with playing co-op, RB is much more geared towards that.

What types of games are you interested in? For non-shooters there's always Fable 2 and The Force Unleashed coming out.

oh man, you need help with games im your guy, RB2 is your best bet, but if your an achievement whore you need the whole GH series, if your not on XBL yet, you should get on it, its only like 8 bucks a month, and worth it, GH is better if you don't have any friends that can play it with you, if you want RPG's your best bet for a long fun storyline is "lost odyssey" or wait for "the last remnant" but if your just lookin for some fun go buy "assassin's creed" its a repeater, but its fun

in gh? nah man, they're easy if you're a gamer, but i guess they are difficult to 1000/1000 lol just bc of dragonforce on expert.....i got it but im not that good

Whatever. I just think they're pretty silly. When I recommend games for achievement whores, I generally think of those that you can get with one playthrough.

Rock Band 2. Activision has run Guitar Hero into the ground. Guitar Hero 4 is basically going to be a lame rip-off of Rock Band, and the Rock Band 2 set list is WAY better, in my opinion. The game play on Rock Band is more fun as well.

rock band is so terribly designed, the gear is cheap and not very responive. id definitely hold out for guitar hero.

If you have a group of friends who play a lot, then Rock Band. Battle of the Bands should be sweet. Also, the Rock Band DLC is far superior.

I believe there's also a "drum trainer" on Rock Band that teaches you techniques and whatnot.

Before I go into Pros and Cons, don't get any of the guitar heros that are out now. Wait till "Guitar Hero: World Tour". It's basically the same as rock band only with the Guitar Hero title.
Pros and Cons:
-Guitar hero will be legit due to the fact of lots of multiplayer opportunity, with friends playing together with a singer, guitar, bass, and drums.
-The drums being the upside, as somebody said earlier, GH:WT has a cooler drum set IMO.
-You can "make your own songs."
Con
-The only problem being Rock Band is basically already doing the same things that GH:WT is doing.
And Rock Band isn't going to run train on your bank account as much

Rock Band ultimate pro:
Songs that you can download from the first Rock Band will be available for you to purchase/download and play on Rock Band 2.
And it should basically be the same as GH:WT, just without "making your own songs."

I'm waiting for RB2. Guitar Hero is legit, but I'm really all about saving my cash and getting more downloadable content.
