I'd say when a team that's won 20 straight regular season games, lost in the Superbowl, had arguably the best year last year for an NFL team ever, loses their star QB who's the reigning league MVP, face of the league for, and invaluable player to a season ending injury ... it's pretty thread worthy.

this can stay open. but be warned that it's mostly been discussed in the NFL and gameday threads by our active users.

I kinda was hoping someone would start a seperate thread for this.
1) I'll believe Brady's played his last snap this season when he's on IR. Bellicheck(sp?) is a sneaky mother fucker.
2) Chances the Pats don't win the division?

if Brady is out for the year, id say the chances the Pats win the division are 25%

I agree. I mean, NFL.com already has the story up, but he's having an MRI tomorrow and until then, no one can be sure. Belichick has definitely been known to play mind games with the media regarding injuries.
If Brady does miss the whole season though, I really don't see them winning the AFC East. Whether or not they decide to go out and pick up Chris Simms or someone else won't really matter, I think an injury to someone like Brady goes a lot deeper than who's behind center, it could take the whole team out of it mentally.

I think the Pats can still finish #1 in the division. While the Jets and Bills have gotten better, they haven't closed the gap by that much. Cassell is an extremely underrated QB who is finally getting a chance as a starter (he was a backup to Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart at USC). They still have a great receiving corps. The only thing Brady's injury shows is that they aren't going to be a 14 or 13 win team anymore. I could still see them winning 11 games.
