it's important if you're not the kind of person who'll do nothing otherwise.. i never had any other choice but to go to college, my parents both went to college so it wasn't a big deal, it was just one of those things i was supposed to do. but i know a few people who graduated with me who are now working and making pretty good money, they have their own houses and cars and pay for everything and have real jobs

right...usually those people have lots of connections.

I think college is great for more than just a good education which can lead to a good job. You get so much more outta the whole college experience...especially if you dorm. I love college.

well yeah, but connections help everyone, not just people who don't go to college. one of the main reasons for joining any kind of academic fraternity is to gain connections.

personally, i think the whole "college experience" is bullshit, i mean you can "find yourself" and get your own identity without hanging around a bunch of rich kids with their parents' money getting fucked up every weekend. i'm having fun no doubt, but my main priority is to get a degree and get the hell out, not to go through some cliche existential experience

true that about the connections.

I disagree though with you though...I think experiencing college is really important for some. Ya I see those kids too but I don't hang around with yuppies and such...and I don't care...they're fucking themselves up cause they can. I mean, I go to a state school so these kids aren't really rich anyway but some are really smart and you do find mature people every now and then. My goal too is to get a degree and move on to do some sorta post-grad work but I'm gonna try and enjoy life as best I can from now till then...you're only young once...and ya it's cliche but if you don't make use of it, some day you MIGHT regret it...not sayin you will not saying you won't...but you might.

I just love being able to hang out with friends to the wee hours of the morning without worrying about my parents yelling at me when I get home. I've never been this independent before and I'm loving it. But ya, it's different for each person so...all is well.

exactly. i'm the only one you have to deal with yelling at you now. =)

i'm definitely looking forward to the whole college experience. you're never going to have it again so you need to make the best of it. once you start a family and an actual career.. you can't just say "fuck it" whenever you please. now is the time to have fun and kick back from time to time.
