This is a very good alternative news and dissident opinion source that I strongly urge anyone here interested in 'politics,' i.e. their lives, to check out and/or join. It provides coverage of everything from current events to activism to participatory economics (PARECON), a 'proposed economic system that uses participatory decision making as an economic mechanism to guide the production, consumption and allocation of resources in a given society.' Some of you may have heard of Z Magazine from Noam Chomsky's writings, and he does do semi-regular blogs/articles there, along with, most notably, Howard Zinn, Arundhati Roy, and Fidel Castro (no joke, read his stuff). Anyway, if nothing else it makes you feel like you're accomplishing something and that there are others out there who care about a lot of the same issues expressed here, and have taken active steps to pursue them. If this is considered spam, sorry, but it seemed appropriate given the context.
