There are a lot of bands that suck or have crappy cds but then put on a great live show (if you're forced to see them cuz they're openers or something). Are there any bands you think are like this? Or the other way around (which happens too often probably), great cd, crappy live?

That's what I was thinking. Granted I liked The Room's Too Cold when it first came out, but I didn't find it to be anything special. But then after seeing their live show I found them to be incredible. Then eventually their CD grew on me.

I haven't heard moneens' cd but i heard a few songs i never got into them, they opened and they had great stage presence, they did a guitar battle too, that was sick.

I've seen Rufio three times and only once have they sounded great live. For some reason they played slower the other two times and it took away form it.

the matches put on a very energetic live show, but man, their cd is just AWFUL. its pure crap, but really, we've all come to expect that from epitaph nowadays, eh?

.moneen. is great live.
I like Matchbook Romance on cd, didn't dig them too much live.
I don't like In Reveire too much, but when Saves the Day played the songs off of it live, it was pretty cool, mostly because they sounded perfect.

They are great on disc too. They're one of the better bands that are still around today.

Bear vs. Shark. Can't get into their cd, but live they were one of the more interesting bands I've seen. That goes for Murder by Death as well.

hahah i was talking to the guitarist of alexisonfire and he said bear vs shark puts on a crazy (as like weird) show, and that its awesome but some people just dont get it. He said they switch instruments and shit and the lead singer like stuck the microphone in his mouth and stood on a key board for about 5 minutes.
dont look down is rull good live, but i bought the cd and didn't really like it much...it was still alright

they are incredible live. my friend and i saw them play at the bottom of the hill in san fran in may and there were only about 30 people in the place, but it didnt matter. he is such a great front man and his energy makes for one exciting show.
wow. thats awesome. I know Matt. he used to live down here and they do put on a hell of a good show. i've taken my best pictures at their shows. Love LK to death. Love Matt.

These guys are the definition of great live show and a bad cd that doesn't capture any of their live energy.

Perils of Reasoning sounded great live and their show was sick! but.. their demos are roughly recorded so the live show was soo much better. they kicked ass.

they put on a dissapointing live show. if you have listened to identity crisis okay. if not, buy that. its their best. its also my favortie cd of all time. first time i saw them though, they sucked. the last time you couldn't tell because everyone was singing.
