If these guys were from, say, Long Island, every person on this site would worship them more then Brand New and hail them as their favorite emo band. But since they arent labeled "emo" many kids dont listen to them. I find that funny, as do i find the term emo funny.

Coldplay is Radiohead for people who actually like melodies in their songs

Radiohead is over rated

Color me excited. There's a reason people in today's bands wish they could write like Chris Martin. Simply put: Beautiful.

Yeah Coldplay is just Radiohead-lite. It's music that you can play in the background and forget about.

cannot wait for this album. cant believe that "clocks" was originally
going to be released with this cd. can you imagine the world without
the song "clocks"?
everyones ringtone wouldnt be the same.
and that girl asian band wouldnt do that cover of it.
and it wouldnt constantly be stuck in everyones head.

chris martin & qwyneth paltrow side project? 2018?

"clocks", I thought it was a Radiohead B-side the first time I heard it.

I personally can't see how someone can dig Radiohead post-OK Computer. I mean "Karma Police" is one of my favorite songs of all-time. Everything they do now, though, is just an attempt at something that's so different, far out there and "unqiue" that people like it for that sole reason. I mean if you're into mumbling vocals with background noise, then I guess that's your thing. I, however, enjoy melody and rhythm and an enjoyable voice.

this is inaccurate. Coldplay is slated for march 2005

Coldplay is derivative of Travis, who is derivative of Radiohead. Can't forget that middle step.

Well Kid A and Hail To The Theif were great albums in my opinion, but Ok Computer was their best. Hail To The Theif was almost a return to a more oriented album like the Bends. Amnesiac is the only one Post-Ok Computer that I'm not crazy about.

I don't know, as a fan of Radiohead I feel like Coldplay took a couple Radiohead songs and dumbed them down. However I will admit, I thought "Yellow" was a nice song.

Their both better than nearly every band on this site. Radiohead IMO still makes better music than Coldplay, but what the hell does it matter.

I cant believe this album is coming out in 2/3 months!!! That is amazing. I wait so long it seemed for a Rush of Blood to the Head....but man hell yeah this just made my day. And since radiohead is being mentioned for some reason, ill put my input. Radiohead was a great band. Now as tate said people like them (at like i think) because they are so different and "artistic". I loved the bends, okay computer. But what really got me into radiohead was Kid A. I listened to them just a little bit before Kid A came out, but once that cd was released i loved them. Now i listened to both, hail to the theif, amnesiac maybe twice each. Both cds bored me and you know what....maybe i just havnt been depressed for the past 5 years, i dont know. Coldplay is amazing, and im kinda glad that these "scenesters" dont like them. I really dont give a shit if somebody that listens to pure screaming likes coldplay

You know what, thinking of coldplay and radiohead brings NIN back into my head. When AP released the most antisapated releases of the year, why wasnt NIN's cd one of them??? I mean they had a freaking ad on the front cover for his re-released of downward spiral. Makes no sense to me. I havnt heard much news about it, but for some reason i was thinking it was going to be released early 05, like in march...any ideas!? Reznor can almost be considered a god. Take that bitchs!

coldplay and radiohead are almost polar opposites. radiohead's first album the bends sounds somewhat similar because they were a band with instruments back then, theyre basically a solely electronic computer driven group now, anyway both bands kick ass

Nine Inch Nails was featured in the issue for "Most Anticipated Releases of 2004" a year ago because everyone thought the new NIN album would be out this year (2004). The same with Finch, The Starting Line, The All-American Rejects, etc.

Hey pal, do yourself a favor....listen to the yetti dude, OK Computer is an awesome disc, one of radioheads less electronic albums (kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the thief still rock) but as far as sounding like coldplay I'd say maybe this is the one you'll enjoy the most
