Anyone else noticed the extreme similarities in the intro to Discovering The Waterfront by Silverstein (the song not the album) and Sharks And Danger by Alexisonfire?
Ouch haha. The first five odd seconds are exactly the same.

I hear Jesse Lacey is the greatest songwriter in the history of people who write words and music.
Jesse Fact: Jesse loves peanut butter on his toast. It helps his genius.
Jesse Fact: Jesse is a genius.
Jesse Fact: You're awful. Listen to Explosions in the Sky or the drummer gets it!

How can you say completely different?
Exact same notes, pretty similar tempo, and even kicks in with a cymbal at the same time?

It was just an observation, not a request for people to judge those bands.

Yes, ignore the phone call in Alexis and slow it down a bit,
Listen to the picking, the chords and when the cymbal comes in,
Why can no-one else hear this?

I'm talking about literally the first couple of seconds, before it kicks in.
I don't get why no-one can hear it, it's SO similar.
Tons of Death Metal bands wanted to rip off Slayer, but they toned down their instruments and bass kicked more.

dude, chill out, it really doesnt matter. its not like its such a unique riff that it "belongs" to alexisonfire and if you're only talking about the first 4 seconds i mean, REALLY? coincidences exist you know and scene bands have too many other similarities to care about this one.
and im not being condescending i actually enjoy alexisonfire, especially the album with sharks and danger on it, as well as several other scene bands (none as whiney and polished as TDWP though)
Yes. And?
