I'm going to go through my current playlist (which is now 1338 songs) and pull out some stuff you might like:
The Weakerthans (http://www.theweakerthans.org) - Who could possibly not like The Weakerthans? These guys are amazing and have always been. Starting off as "the new band from the guy in Propagandhi" to almost universally praised, this band is gold--as are all three of their releases.
Owen - I Do Perceive is awesome. Mike Kinsella is pretty damn amazing and offers up another acoustic-based gem. While you're at it check out some of the other things he's been in: American Football (https://www.polyvinylrecords.com/bands/band_info.asp?bandID=17); Aloha (https://www.polyvinylrecords.com/bands/band_info.asp?bandID=5); Joan of Arc (https://www.polyvinylrecords.com/bands/band_info.asp?bandID=128).
Coalesce (http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stage/6131/coalesce.html): Sometimes it seems people forgot how awesome this band was...remember There Is Nothing New Under the Sun, the album of Led Zeppelin covers...that is great.
The Postal Service (http://www.subpop.com/bands/postalservice/) - Give Up is such a pretty, laid back record.
Mikoto (http://www.mikotomusic.com/) - The new band from ex-Taken vocalist is sounding excellent. And if you haven't listened to Taken yet, do that too.
Also, I recommended Thought Riot a while ago. If you like punk music at all then you better make sure you checked them out.

Haha, no fucking way.
Before I clicked on this thread, I said to myself "He's gonna recommend something like Coalesce this week. I'm sure of it. Actually, it probably will be Coalesce."
For someone with such unpredictable tastes you've become pretty predictable. In a really good way. Keep up the good work.

since when did it become a competition to recommend what we ENJOY listening to? Who's to say what is better than something else? If something makes you happy, listen to it.

dear scott,
i don't see me mentioning anything about it being a competition. i just happen to enjoy ryan's recommendations this week more than anyone elses. by "flawless victory" i meant i liked his choices, not "yeah dude, you showed that weber punk who is boss!"
the new owen cd is my favorite of the year, hands down. i could listen to it on repeat for hours, all i want to do is sit outside in a hammock and drink lemonade. but it is really cold out and that isn't happening.
animality.
