Lately I've been told by many people to check out this band Pistolita (www.pistolita.com). I finally did and I must say that I'm impressed. They just released an EP called Gliss-Note that they recorded with producer Alex Newport (At The Drive-In). You can check out 3 tracks from it on their MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/pistolita). They have a shitload of west coast shows coming up (which are also listed on their MySpace page) and I've been told they're incredible live, so go see them next time they're around!

I just saw them last Friday night at a small show in So Cal. They were very good live. Second time I had seen them, but I really don't know the music that well. They put on a good show, good vocals live, especially the guitar player.

I think I heard your boy Jason Tate was there to see them also ?

My old band, the empty, did a tour with them... Incredible guys and they are gonna go far, no doubt... One of the most underated and hard working bands in Cali right now.

did you play at ground zero with them, and fairview, and um, hollyhood heartbeat? if so, i was there...

but ya, i think they are overrated. but maybe because i have seen them play so many times here, it just got boring.

if you're from San Diego it's almost a given that you'll be overhyped if you're doing what's hip at the time.

hah i love it how everyone outside of san diego thinks pistolita is good,

everyone in san diego knows they arent.

I'm not saying they're bad, but.. I just don't think they're incredible the way everyone describes them.

i'll say it, although i pretty much vowed never to listen to them again after i heard them over the summer opening for a better band

yeah, we played that show @ ground zero... and it was pretty fun... that venue is pretty weird... isn't it a youth ministry or something?

haha yea, it was back in the day, that was the first show there since they re-did it, its pretty chill though, i like it because its more personal.
