Was gona make a poll for this but duno how to make em. Just wondering how many people here think that skinheads are all racist etc and why. Because it seems that everyone seems to think skins are racist and politicaly facist even nazi! just wonderin what people think.

It's a subculture that came about shortly after the whole Mod scene died out. Not all skins are racists; the racist factor actually went into it in the 70s/80s. I actually know a black skinhead here, and have seen many others at shows. The Dropkick Murphys were (or maybe still are) skins, I believe.

in the 70's/80's there was a nazi band called skrewdriver who had a big following, but a lot of their supporters just went along for the crack not for the racism. The labels so strong its just i duno were its come from coz most people ive spoke to havent even seen a skin before just make the assumption.

I have a good amount of friends in Ireland, England, Northern Ireland, etc. The white guy with a shaved head is a hell of a lot more common over there than it is here.

A few times I spoke to kid online who claimed that he was a skinhead. He might have shown me a picture of himself once. Scrawny little white kid with a shaved head, wore an army-type getup....the whole shabang, including the horrible attitude/personality. But ya, he was a racist prick and thought waay too highly of himself. He was god and anyone else was inferior to him.

Whether or not that defines a skinhead...I'm not really sure, but he's the only person that i've ever met to call himself one.

Maybe because the world judges the entire group based on the actions of the few. Not all black people beat their wives and eat fried chicken...not all mexicans mow lawns and work at taco bell...not all brown people eat stinky food and wear turbans (well...we do eat really stinky food)...but ya, that's something about the world that'll never change.

maybe it's the belief that since skinheads are anti-racism...they'd like to live in a world that is clearly segregated so that racism doesn't exist? That's an extreme view it but it's a possibility.

the are, like dropkicks n a few from floggin molly. theres 2 racist skin labels from america, the leader of ones just been arested, but theres tonnes of anti-racist skinhead labels. at the business sat night (a v big skin band) one guy had a nazi shirt on n micky fitz the singer from em told the guy to piss of n get out of the gig n as soon as everyone realised his shirt he was out straight away.

A tiny amout of skins are racist, like in any groups u get racists, sexists etc. if u goto a dropkick murpheys or molly gig i asure u there will be skins there n both bands members are firmly against racism. Most poeple develop ideas bout skins like this because there known to be violent etc, but when it comes to standing up for yourself and especialy friendship skins are very strong about it.

u cant say souls arnt skin related coz they played an anti-nazi show coz skin bands do that sorta thing as well. the souls are very street punk/ bit oi like coz they sing about friendship n their lives exactly like st punk n oi bands.

Haha, yeah I saw some "skinhead" profiles on that Myspace thing. I don't think they are racist, but they are strong anti-communist. And they all look like Lumberjack's haha. They all like shitty music too such as Blood For Blood, Madball, Crown Of Thronz and Skarhead.

what's wrong with communism? it looks nice on paper and uhm...ok there's a lot wrong with communism...it did provide strong arguments against capitalism which would apply back in 1850...communism in the modern world just can't work due to capitalisms dominance.

and that's what led to the downfall of it...I know...human's innate nature to be greedy (don't say compete for better...because it's greed)...but ya that's why it didn't work in the soviet union along with many many other reasons...it's surviving in China because of China's high population...don't think you can say democracy is much better because India is just as populous and they're not doing much better. I dunno, I'm halfway through the communist manifesto...the first half is more of an attack on the lack of morals and ethics put on the bourgeoisie as a result of capital...it's logical but unrealistic.

The fashion police has spoken.......we have those here to (fashion police's). They stand at the square by the hot dog shop in the city by their cars all night trying to look cool and showing eachothers cars and shit to eachother.
