The Hold Steady or The Gaslight Anthem?

Ouch, tough poll.

I love both bands, but I went with the Hold Steady. Fallon has a better voice than Craig Finn, but Finn's lyrics have so much more depth, the musicianship is more solid, and they put on possibly the best live show I've ever seen.

I definitely prefer Gaslight, but The Hold Steady is pretty awesome too

I prefer the steady, but the gaslight anthem are pretty good too. Craig finn is a better lyricist and the gsa are catchier. there ya go.

How have I never heard of Gaslight Anthem? Love the Hold Steady and their live show, so they get my vote. GA is sounding good though.

i really dont like the hold steady and dont understand their following. Yet i love Gaslight, so no contest in my mind

Both great bands, but there's no question: The Hold Steady

THS have been consistently excellent over four albums, where the gaslight anthem had a pretty good first cd, and an excellent second. just based on consistency, Hold Steady blows em out of the water. TGA is a great band tho
