anyone else think TSL's lyrics for bedroom talk are a little stupid?

The Motherland needs this thread to spread the good ideals of the Motherland. Such as tearing asses up and The Starting Line.

yes the lyrics are dumb. i hope the rest of the record is better. maybe that'll be the one song i skip like the new version of cheek to cheek on SILYMI

They need to get back together now. Can't wait for the live dvd. With the CD release show, I really hope they pull a suprise and play a set. They're even doing a full band signing, it has to mean something.

reunion please

11/01/09, 04:26 AM
I remember reading an interview where Kenny said he hates this line and regrets writing it because it gets misinterpreted all the time.

But seriously, the TSL reunion won't shock me at all. They are doing a DVD release show with all of them there playing music, and they are doing a signing together. They are gonna at least play one or two songs at the DVD show.

Really is a terrible song... in out out of context.

Also, yeah while it is their worst album, it's not complete shit. There's some good tracks on there.

It blows my mind that this song was the album's single.

Say It Like You Mean It is my favorite "pop punk" album of all-time. It means as much to me as Take This To Your Grave does to everyone else in the world. As close to a perfect album in the genre for me.

breakin my heart, big guy

it's a sunny pop-rock album for me. not pop-punk, but most definetly great for summer. puts a smile on my face for sure

I can live with that. Thing is, the age I was when SILYMI was big is the age you were when BOATS was big. Plays a huge part.

From track 5 on, this album is golden, but I hate this song so much. Also really enjoy Direction, aside from the title track.

yeah thats the case with a lot of albums for me, I wasn't into them at the time and so forth and therefore don't enjoy them as much (i.e. SILYMI, Tell All Your Friends, etc.)

Right. And that era is like 8th, 9th, 10th grade for me. Perfect for the "scene." I'm glad I grew up when I did, even if I don't listen to much of any of it anymore (TBS, Brand New, FOB, so on so forth).

I've cut out a lot of bands like this over the years but for some reason I've maintained a soft spot for these guys. Always can find a few days out of the year where I want to hear simple pop music.

I find increasingly with the new crop of pop-rock bands that I just can't listen to it anymore, yet there are still times, as you say, when all you want to listen to is straight up pop. That's why some I still listen to some music I should have grown out of by now.

However, I wouldn't put TSL in this category, I can listen to them anytime and still enjoy it.

Same. I can still listen to them and enjoy myself, which I can't say about most other things I listened to in jr. high/early high school.

That's my favorite off of Direction. At a show where I was running the P.A. for a bit, I played it in between sets and twice was asked what band it was. Both people let out a huge, "REALLY?!" when I told them.
