Lady, I’m a Peaceful Man – Pictures
Record Label: Unsigned
Release Date: September 13, 2008

Who?

Five talented hardcore metalheads from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who keep it real over five furious tracks. There are no cheesy breakdowns, no lame artificial harmonic riffs, no gang vocals, and no bullshit to be found.

How is it?

Okay, now I know you’ve heard the brutal-metalcore thing about one million times, but I’m pretty sure you’ve rarely heard it this awesome. For a small, unsigned band, Lady, I’m a Peaceful Man’s demo has incredible sound quality – the audio is perfect, so you can hear every harmonized tapping riff, every split second rhythm switch-up, and even the bass. It seems bizarre to give good sound quality points, but metal demos are pretty difficult to approach when they sound like they were recorded in somebody’s basement.

Musically, these guys are amazing. They round out their obvious Dillinger Escape Plan obsession with hints of Fear Before [the March of Flames], and they even throw in some random dancey segues that The Number 12 Looks Like You would be proud of. If you ever get the opportunity to see these guys live, do it.
