AP Fantasy Hockey (Keeper)

I created the league. We are going to need a second league though. If anyone wants to be in both leagues, let me know in here and maybe you can fill in. I don't want to leave anyone out though, so we're going to have to make a second league.

I used the same settings (as far as statistics) as last season. If you would like something changed or something added, post it in this thread and we can all vote on it as a group.

Also, keep in mind that it is a Keeper league.

You should change the scoring to Rotisserie though. H2H is brutal for hockey.

yeah same here with what laura said. i did okay at nhl.com's fantasy playoffs thing considering it was my first one.

and if i read correctly, head to head is matchups between teams and rotisserie is ranking at the end in different categories.

If you have two keeper leagues, chances are you're going to need to replace double the teams. Couple that with the fact that half of the people in the second league aren't even NHL thread, let alone sports forum regulars.

I'm just thinking that it's going to be difficult to fill league 2 next year, and I know if I had joined that league thinking it was going to be a keeper... but then it ended after one year, I'd be pretty disappointed.

I don't like the idea. Everyone should just be able to keep whoever they want. That's like saying in football you have to keep 1 QB, 1 RB and 1 WR.

basically it goes like this...we're in a 12 team league, so each team is ranked 1-12 in the scoring categories. say for instance, i have 10 goals on the first day and you have 9, and we're the two league leaders in that category. i'd receive 12 points, and you'd receive 11 points. if we both have 9 goals, we'd both receive 11.5 points (average of the total points due between us).

i'm not sure if they total points out on a day to day basis or not.

Just remember what Tim said before...it's a roto league so look to build an even squad rather than just a top heavy squad. Sometimes the best player available isn't your best option. If you've got two awesome Centers, regardless of who is out there you should probably look for a Winger or a Goalie or a D-man.

Going to miss the first couple games at the most. Theres a chance his age might start to catch up to him and he'll be more suseptable to injuries but going off of the level he can still play, I doubt that.

A healthy Crosby could carry your team. He played hurt half the year last year and its scary to think about. Sharp, Franzen, Hueslius, Pomminville and Phanuef, you have a solid team around him. You might have the best goalie tandem. Could be some trade bait there.

From I've seen of the teams in league two, pand has probably the most well rounded team. emkvetwin's team is pretty strong too.

I like my team a lot but thats because Im expecting a lot out of Kane and Toews to have monster years. Same with Stamkos. While I would like to consider myself in the market for a higher scoring defensemen, I think Bouwmeester and Kronwall could both improve their point totals by atleast 10.
