Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone went to any of the SLR shows they have done this tour and on the setlists for them as a Michelle-less trio. Going to see em next week and just wanted to get an idea of what they were going to play and maybe stuff they reworked....thanks!

I saw them friday night in panama city and that's the set we got along with a cover of Nirvana's "Drain You" which was sweet and "Another Word For Desperate" for the one more song encore. Here's the only video I took that night when they played "Buttoned Down" which is my friend's fav song.

ps - just a request for future shows but there's really no reason to yell out songs you wanna hear them play, yelling out "big shot" isn't just annoying to other fans but the band too. You know they're gonna play it so stop yelling for it. thanks.

I can't believe you're sharing my video. Just kidding. They encored with "Another Word For Desperate". That asshat of a dude that supposedly booked the show kept asking for "The Tension and the Terror". We shall now add "Big Shot" to "70x7", "Deadbolt", and your fav ... "Bring Back Bullets!"

so wait wait wait... did they encore with Another Word For Desperate or Tension And Ahe Terror then? Either way I do love Buttoned Down. Sounds like an entertaining show.

my bad, they encored with another word for desperate....this total douchebag grabbed the mic off the stage and demanded they play tension and the terror cuz he booked the show. john told him that wasn't cool to grab the mic so they played someone else's request for another word for desperate.

whatever chola, don't be greedy. straylight is so good they need to be shared with everyone and thankfully the video didn't pick up your singing like the tbs video.
they are never gonna play the tension and the terror again, i wish people would get over it.

I dunno about never...never say never. Chris Conley said they'd never play jodie again, but then they (saves the day) rerecorded it, rereleased it acoustically, and proceeded to play it a bunch of times last year.
and slr seem to be pretty good about taking audience requests compared to other bands...i got them to finish a show off with Dignity And Money last year on request! (and it rocked). Anyways the new 3 man band format leaves it open to them playing some different sets than they have been the last 2 years or so, because they said they wouldn't be playing the Michelle songs.
In conclusion its still probably a bad idea to grab the mic on stage to get a request played.
even without michelle's songs they have plenty of songs to play. john always completely ignores requests for tension. based on the subject of it, they dont like the song anymore so they will not play it anymore. i'd bet money on it.
anyway, last night they played:
Mistakes We Knew We Were Making
Wait And Watch
It Never Gets Easier
Soon We'll Be Living In The Future
Ten Ton Shoes
Your Name Here (acoustic)
Buttoned Down (acoustic)
Perfect Ending (John on keys only)
Drain You (half keys/half full band nirvana cover)
Who Will Save Us Now (New version has a cool drum part during the verses.)
Sympathy for the Martyr
Try
Existentialism on Prom Night
Big Shot
Phenomenal as a three piece though I did miss Michelle.

What an amazing set for just John on vocals. I miss Michelle though :( I think everyone does. Anyways, I want to see The Perfect Ending live. Actually I just want to see Straylight Run live

I was impressed with how good they were as a 3 piece. In CT, I think they played pretty much the same set as posted from NC. Good stuff. Although there was only like 30 people there. I was excited to pick up Un Mas Dos too.
Actually I just want to see Straylight Run live

there were only 30 people at your show? there were probably 50 in South Carolina, but they haven't headlined there in a very long time- I heard there were more at Greene Street.

Fantastic video. I can't wait to hear this song live. Hopefully they do an east coast headlining run soon, I miss them.
