For this week, let's do a traditional Christmas/Not so Christmas special.

I think I don't speak for myself when I say that this week, the top recommendation on everyone's list should be something other than music. What does that mean you say? Well, this week is the release of the NAPOLEON DYNAMITE DVD!

Ok, but seeing as how this IS a music oriented site, here we go with my music recommendations.

Moneen - Awesome band, got their start on indie label Smallman Records out of Canada. Also home of another great band called Choke! If you've been living under a rock the past couple of years, then go listen to Moneen and get with the times.

Snow Patrol - I still love this band, and while we're on the topic of Snow Patrol, you shouhld go and check out another band of similar taste, Lovedrug (the Militia Group)

Glassjaw - No they aren't broken up, quit your rumors, just be patient, their time will come again, even if it's not the exact same lineup.

Bellmore - Southern Connecticut based band with just a lot of Rock and no gimmicks! Not much out there like that anymore, so take it as it comes.

i saw napoleon before anyone had heard of it. fox thought it was gonna do crappy so they showed it twice in dallas for free and gave away a bunch of free stuff like vote for pedro shirts. and .moneen. ... well, theyre pretty much the best live band ever (and by pretty much i mean definately).

I heard a song, and it sounded amazing, but then I heard more off of Final Straw, and it wasn't that special...the same thing happened with Ambulance LTD...I don't get it...

are ya fucking nuts man??? moneen!? the best live band ever??? i truly hope you're joking man...they aint THAT good...i personally cant stand them...but they dont come anywhere near being even one of the top live bands...no way man...great energy does not = great music...i think the reason why he runs around so fucking much is cuz he cant play....booooooooooooo moneen!

maybe it was because they played at a tiny venue... and no1 knew them... but moneen we're pretty poor when they played vagrant records with FATA senses fail and emanuel... there wasen't even alot of energy in their performance :/ maybe for one song at the end, that was it.

snow patrol are good, i saw them for the first time two weeks ago. people only seem to know about "final straw" though. they have two other albums out that are worth checking out if you like them.

i've been counting down the days till napoleon dynamite comes out. i just hope people don't start quoting it all over again. that got really old really fast.

and moneen the best live band ever? i know it's all opinions and most people probably don't want to like these bands, but the hives and franz ferdinand are definitely the top two live bands around today when it comes to entertainment (i think franz sound great too).
