EDIT: You also mentioned the Ataris, who's most recent album was just as commercialized as Simple Plan and just as poppy. Also, I think Something Corporate sucks, and they attract the same fans to their shows that Simple Plan does.

They can listen to it if they want to, but they need to expand their horizons a bit on what good music really is, or at least better music than SP. I'll admit I listen to SP, but I figure I override that with like 10-20 a lot better bands and they should do the same.

i was in that boat about 3 months ago. my favorite bands were ALkaline Trio and Hot Rod Circuit. Then after alot of procrastinating, i finally listened to radiohead, and they completly changed what i listened to. while i still listen alk3, hrc, tbs, brand new and all that goood stuff, radiohead has opened doors to bands like tv on the radio, xiu xiu, arcade fire and stuff like that. simple plan is a gateway drug. they will be in our position, insulting some pop band in 4 years, saying why dont you listen to son, ambulance, they are soo old school and amazing
