I'm really sorry to hear that!

It always sucks being in a new place and feeling out of your element. On the bright side, you only have a year of high school left, so you can look forward to going to college if that's what you plan on doing after you graduate. College is weird at first because you don't know anyone, but the good news is that there will be hundreds of other students who are in the same position as you (I think you had it tough in the sense that you moved in the middle of high school, when all the cliques were already formed). To pass the time you have left at high school, my suggestion would be to take on an extracurricular activity (something you really enjoy). Since it's only September, I'm sure it's not too late to join one.

So don't weigh so much of your life on it. Things get better, and they'll work out. Regardless of your mother's position - while unfortunate - is... your mother's position -- not yours. Family is important, but not the most important. You are most important -- your own life.

Your mom has led what probably is a very long and fruitful life. She has seen many happy and sad times both. It's your turn. In the end, you only have to realize that life ends in death. It may not be a happy thing to realize, but it's true. You will not get out of life alive. Enjoy it while it lasts - your mother most likely had an amazing one. Follow in her footsteps in that regard. Enjoy your time, enjoy making new friends, now and in the future. Enjoy doing something.

I'm sorry to hear that you are sad right now but it does not last forever. The absolutely most crucial thing you can come to terms with is that your life is what you make it to be. You are only truly happy when you are happy with yourself... so do something with yourself.
