I understand your point, but insulting someone's intelligence--calling them a moron, because they don't like a band you do is a totally different situation. Also, judging a whole person (as you said), based on his musical tastes (a very miniscule aspect of the person as a whole) is a lot different than disliking a band for their music (which a very very large part of a band as a whole). I came across a news post stating that a band that would presumably be well liked among this community (AFI), were using a song written by NIN. And what do NIN get from it (aside from royalties heh)? They get a popular and generally very professional site using a heading that could easily be construed as attacking them, for no apparent reason. Personally i don't think thats really acceptable from someone in Jason Tate's position. Although i voiced my opinion on it - and i'll happily admit i didnt voice it in the best way - i didnt consider it a big deal, but now i find myself writing all of this just to explain my response to what was at least an equally ignorant comment.
Also i didnt "badger" for having an opinion. I wrote one single line, which was my opinion. I dont think i'd really consider that badgering. No, badgering would probably be more waiting around for something you know was going to happen, just itching to run off a huge paragraph pointing out everything thats wrong with the person in question. Now that sounds a bit more like badgering don't you think?

I think thats kind of the point they were making dude. If he had of said he doesn't like NIN then i wouldn't have one problem at all.
