Fraternities/Sororities?

Im thinking about going to some rush events, a good friend i developed over the summer is the president of Kappa Gamma Rho. I told him i would at least come hang out. Im still not too sure how it would benefit me seeing as i dont drink. Does anyone have a KGR chapter at their school? Also since i dont drink would there be a point in me joining. I just dont know any other purpose of a frat than partying so maybe some of you can enlighten me.

I have a friend in a frat and one of his brothers doesn't drink. I'm not sure what type of frat the one you're talking about is, but not all are about partying, though that's the perception they give off.

Yeah the guys in kappa gamma rho seem pretty chill. I did my research about it and they are the frat that does the most community service around here. It still doesn't keep me from being a little apprehensive about it though haha.

I mean there most likely will be drinking, that's just the way it is. But my friends frat also does a lot of community service, I guess the kid who doesn't drink just participates in all the events that don't involve alcohol.

That frat seems good, the one's you have to watch out for are the guys who join the frat solely for the purpose of partying.

You don't have to drink to join (at least at my school) but I guess it's the "cool" thing to do. I wouldn't advise joining though, I'd imagine bros everywhere are pretty standard.

just because you join, it doesn't mean you have to drink. it's about way more than partying (which you obviously get, since you're considering it)

i think frats are a waste of time AND money, you pay for your friends, just go out and meet friends on your own! you dont need to live in a house with a buncha bro's!
