The Takeover Records (http://www.takeoverrock.com)' 'Sign My Band' contest has come to an end and our winner is Strike Fire Fall.
The band will be rewarded with a release from Takeover plus Internet promotion from AP.net and PureVolume.com, clothing sponsorship from Hurley, a complete merch setup including t-shirts, hats, and stickers from AI Creations (aicreations.com), specialty radio promotion from JMA & Associates, plus a guaranteed spot opening for Yellowcard sometime on their 2005 tour. The 9 runner up bands will get hooked up with products from Establishment Clothing.

aw, i really wanted to see silhouette win. i've been listening to them for a while and they have put out some really good stuff in the past. plus, the vocals are very unique and they're a lot 'tighter' musically. hopefully something will happen to them in the future.
but congratulations to the other band, that's a cool thing to win.

From what I understand, their fanbase was so devoted that kids put their demos in at the booth. Not the band themselves.

thats true, when they released a couple eps earlier this year there was like no promotion. the three bands that everyone is talking about has buzz now and will no doubt go on to much better deals.

True story. I worked for Takeover on the Warped dates in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, and there were easily a dozen kids throughout the day dropping off demos of bands they weren't in. DLD came out publicly and stated that they didn't want to be in the contest, and although they loved the promotion it gave their band, had no intention of winning. Trust in this - they'll be bigger than Strike.Fire.Fall will be, and will most likely do it sooner than SFF.

im not sure why everyone bashes these guys. i mean, none of these bands are that original in the first place. and this deal is probably going to get the winning band nowhere. so who cares?
also, everyone also talks about how they are "frat boys who have never toured". im not quite sure about this band, but with other bands some of them have. one(the singer) was in the band parkview(rip) on pumpkineater records. www.purevolume.com/parkviewpa

the band that one was the band that got voted on the most. it wasn't about talent or "coolness" or any of that shit. it was a straight out popularity contest. so quit bitching about it. I wanted DLD to win not because they're good, but because they are so damn emo it's entertaining. anyways, DLD posted a statement saying not that they DIDN'T want in the contest, but that they didn't KNOW about it. a fan dropped off a demo and they just went for the ride. but all of the bands on there are going to get buzz now so the band that wants it the most will get it, it's only a matter of time. just quit bitching about it....damn

strike fire fall is real good. i dont understand y whenever anyband gets some sort of popularity everyone needs to bash them. if u dont like them then dont buy their cd and dont go to their shows. they are a hard working band and def. deserve this. and for the dumbass who said they havent left pa that is because they were in school, they wanted to drop out and start touring but they didnt have any record label support so now that they do im sure they will make their way around. i saw them last year and they put on an awesome show. the lead singer is awesome
strike.fire.fall is really good, after listening to more of their stuff I've liked them gradually more. And after I emailed the guys to ask if they had a cd or something and congratulating them on the thing, Dan (one of the members) emailed me back and then he sent me a cd. And their new demo...hmm. I'm not supposed to tell. But it's on there, and it's sounding really good.
