you can burn VCD's which is basically the same thing as a DVD with just a regular burner. But it depends on what you are doing.... Are you just burning video files onto a disc? Or copying a dvd?
Well whatever, you need a program like Roxio or Nero which you can get trials of I think.
okay... i have a dvd burner.
i have big dvd-rw blank cds (big enough for dvd's)
i have random dvds (braveheart, gladiator, air force one)
i went to copy one with the software (sonic) and it said that it was protected....
what do i do???
do i need to get different burning software??download something?

certain DVD's will have some sort of protection so that they can't be burnt. but another tip, don't play burnt DVD's on your xbox, because it will fuck it all up bad, or atleast it did to mine.

i need help though
get dvd shrink from dvdshrink.org, then get nero...dvdshrink has a tutorial u can follow to burn dvds, it might take u a little while to figure things out but once u do its easy

i use nerovision (I'm actually using it right now to burn anime). it's pretty easy and will shrink the file automatically to fit. It cannot burn copy protected dvds, and I don't think it captures them either, but then again, I only use mine to burn anime and music videos.

then you have to buy that thing that allows you to burn dvd's. since all of them are copyrighted

you should try looking at a website like cdfreaks.com or something like that, they have expert burners that can help you out. I would tell you that you need to find a program that extracts the video and audio files off of the DVD and then burn them with nero or something, that way you can get around the copyright problem, but it isn't easy, and I can't explain what to do in this single post.
This is my 69th post.

I just got a DVD burner. Its the sweetest thing ever. Itdoes everything. 16x dvd burning, 16x cd burning, and plays any region of dvd (which is cool because i didnt even HAVE a dvd rom before). Its great, I just have to try to limit the amout of illegal goings on. *cough*
i figured it out. i just need to find different software or a crack for the software i'm using because my trial period ran out and i need to register.

My roommate is trying to burn a DVD. Is there a program where you can burn DIVX movies onto a DVD?
