Supposedly, Jason Gleason (ex-Further Seems Forever (www.furtherseemsforever.com)) has some new stuff recorded for a solo acoustic project he is launching soon.

jason gleason is easily the best singer within his "genre"
hes super trained, has a huge amount of depth and power in his voice...and chooses the best vocal patterns and note arrangements.
hes just the best.
if you are a singer and dont like him, or if you are into talented music in any regards and you dont like him, your brain has malfunctioned.
i love that dood.

Did anyone listen to Sleighbells and Wine? Good song, but I don't think he was at his finest in it.

Wow, those are two of the most ignorant posts I have read on this site. Jason is NOT "super trained" at ALL. He is good, yes, but he often fell flat during performance, literally. And then when he was having a bad night and couldnt sing, he would scream.
His "range" is misleading, because he always sings at the top of his range, leading ignorant fucks to think he has some sort of extreme talent. He doesnt.
I will agree that he does use some good note placement, and some of his lyrics are pretty well written, but he is not someone to be worshipped. AT ALL.
The "Sunken Ship" stuff was horrible. Hopefully this new stuff will be improved.

I don't care what any of you guys think, Jason is probably a better singer then any of the lead singers of your favorite bands (besides the dude from copeland).

Yeah, it was as good as a Christmas song can be. He's a good singer.

He did have a vocal coach on How to Start a Fire.

It was producers James Wisners mother, I believe. Who is also Chis Carabba's coach.
Gleason was one of the best frontman.

Yeah, I looked at my cd and it says Norma Mendoza which might be that guys mother. I don't know if I could say Gleason is one of the best frontman though since, you know, he's not in a band anymore (like you said). He is a good singer though.

First of all, he is super trained. There was an interview with him floating around around the time HTSAF came out in which he got into his training... which added up to something like 15 years, starting in church choirs and running private training in several different styles including country and opera.
And how exactly is range misleading? Either you can hit a note or you can't. And he obviously didn't sing at the top of his range all the time. In fact, the song on HTSAF where he gets the highest, for most of the song he's singing rather low, actually.
Anyway, open question to all. Was Sunken Ship the project, I believe which included his wife, that he left FSF for?

Definitely think Gleason's FSF album was the best of the 3 lead singers. Carabba and Bunch were both okay but better in their other musical pursuits.
