The SP tour last spring was headlined by Simple Plan, with MxPx, Sugarcult, and Motion City Soundtrack supporting. MxPx played considerably less than Simple Plan, even though at the time Simple Plan had one album to draw material from.

To clarify, Yellowcard opened here in Cleveland for Jane's Addiction at the Gravity Games in 2003.

yea, i definitely agree that Millioncolin opening for GC is complete shit. However, I do not see a problem with Millencolin opening. Let people do what they want, jeebus. You know they're getting offered good money to take that slot on the tour, and you know you would take it too, especially when you've been associated with the band before and they are huge fans of yours. I'm not saying "Millencolin is only opening for GC because of the money involved"...I'm saying that if Millencolin accepted the invitation to be on this tour, then obviously they are cool with it...everyone else should be too.

With Millencolin being one of my favourite bands for about 6 years now, of course I'm gonna be a little miffed that they're supporting such a mediocre manufactured band, but hopefully it'll get the guys some more exposure so they sell more records. They definatly deserve it.

With bands such as Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, and the other people you guys like to make fun of bringing good bands such as Millencolin on tour with them, as well as their praising of the bands that have influenced them (such as NoFX or Rancid, both of whom I hate but you get the point), the kids are going to start looking into these bands they've never heard of and start listening to some "better" music, and from then on they will dig deeper and deeper.

In addition, a band like Millencolin is going to get a lot of new fans and more exposure, and maybe then they'll start to blow up like they deserve to.

I swear, some of you are so cynical about everything. Of course Good Charlotte and Simple Plan are lame bands, but their music is gateway music to better stuff. You can't expect most 15 year olds to get into a band like Rancid or the Bronx or whomever right away, they're just not "consumer immediate" enough (that's not the phrase I was looking for but I hope you understand). You have to ease your way there.
