I just got my copy of the new Alternative Press (http://www.altpress.com) in the mail (with Senses Fail on the cover) and low and behold, we were voted the #2 best website online (behind Purevolume, well, duh), and #2 best message board online (behind Alternative Presses own) - I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who voted because it's always a cool shock to see AP in ... well, AP.

I think its well deserved recognition...I come here for the latest music news, especially about the handful of bands I really like, and this site delivers...also I noticed the upcoming concerts blurb in the lower right corner, and the album releases in the top right....thats pretty cool and informative...

this site is definitely one of the best, and although you plug a lot of the bands i don't like, i think on a whole you're doing a great service for people who are into underground music. you deserve all the recognition you get for all the hard work i can only imagine you put into it.

I lied, there were no polls regarding my following statement. Most zines out there appear to be conveying which zines they feel are the best/worst. In my infinite spare time, I have managed to come up with a short, and at the same time fictitious awards ceremony regarding the wonderful world of webzines.

Both gentlemen are still counting as we speak, but I have the following statement from Mr. Armstrong.

"We have been at this for 45 hours now. Stephen has lost all hope that we will finish, but I remain optimistic. He has been hitting the bottle pretty hard, and can't comprehend how these guys thought this many bands could be listed as The Next Big Thing. I would like to conclude by saying: The Apollo program was not a hoax."

I have heard the word "Tatecore" used a lot over the past few months. I think Tatecore sounds a lot like taintcore. I don't know where I am going with this one, but if you say them really fast at the same time, they sound like one word. I don't think it is a coincidence that "TateCore" shares a striking resemblance to the word "Taint" in terms of musical taste.

10. And finally, the award to the webzine who posted the most stories on inane topics such as "bandmerch" goes to!
