Sorry if this has been done already..

I'm just wondering if anyone here speaks any other languages?

I speak French. And a little Spanish, but not much.

A friend of mine from school was born here, but she learns Armenian on weekends because her family speaks Armenian at home. It's really neat

My dad is hispanic and my mom is filipino but they never taught us their language. I did take spanish freshman & sophomore year of HS (and failed the classes but shhh). But i never grew up hearing the language because I grew up in Georgia in a town called Martinez (pronounced "Martin-ez" because they're rednecks like that). But since i moved to Texas, it's spoken alot more and it starts to stick with you. Plus my dad's relatives speak it constantly. so i'd like to say i speak a little spanish. i wish i knew more though. I also want to learn French and a Chinese dilect.

I speak English (duh), Mandarin, Swedish and French fluently. Because of the Swedish, I can understand/read/speak (kind of) Norwegian and Danish because the languages are so similar. I'm starting Spanish next semester, so that's gonna be fun!

I have a list of 6 other languages I want to learn fluently before I die so I've got to get started!

well my first language is Mandarin because that was what my family spoke at home, but when school started I spoke English and now that is what I speak most often.

French because I was in a french immersion school from gr 6 until highschool and I spoke it almost everyday.

Swedish because I spent a year as an exchange student in Sweden. Seriously, living and immersing yourself in a country/culture is the best way (and fastest) to learn a language.

I've never actually taken any languages in school, hahaha. (well, other than french, obviously) I have this thing for languages, I love them all! Well, except danish, hahaha.

I took 2 years of Spanish and 2 years of Japanese in high school, but that doesn't mean I actually "speak" the language. haha

I forgot a lot of it except for basics. I want to get a minor or something in Japanese though because I really enjoyed it.

Polish. Thats pretty much all my mom speaks(well, she does know english, and she uses it when shes out, or talking to her friends) but at home, talking to family she speaks Polish.(she is straight off the boat) So yeah..whenever she calls me or I go to my parents I gotta bust out the Polish. (and of course my dad knows it too, although he doesnt really speak it, he just understands it....although if he has to he will speak it. But yeah anywho......i speak just a tiny little spanish...and duh english.

I'm in my 4th year of Spanish in high school but I can't really speak it. I think it would be cool to learn Japanese and Latin. Also Slovak because I am. I'm also French but I don't want to learn it...

I speak English.

As far as learning vocabulary goes, Latin is really easy. The grammar and actually forming sentences gets a little tricky considering all of the declensions and cases and crap that there are. It's really kool though and useful if someone is interested in having a career in medicine or some sort of biology related one.

I am decent, getting better at spanish (4 garbage years in high school, 1 semester so far in college). If I had to learn another language, I'd probably learn mandarin just because in the next few decades China will probably emerge as the dominant world power.

That is very true, The United States is a very succesful nation but if China really got their shit together they would easily be the most powerful nation. But I think Cantonese is more common in China than Mandarin.

Mandarin is the official language in China & Taiwan. A lot of people learn Cantonese, though, because it's easier to pronounce and such.

Spanish and I'm conversational in German, but I still need a lot of work. My Sister's entire family (her husband, kids and whatnot) speak Dutch, though they also know English, so that's next on the list.

I learned a bit of Japanese in school, but not very successfully (I got an E on my report card, which at my school is the lowest grade you can get). I can count to 10 though! Ichi, ni, san, shi, go roku, shichi, hatchi, kyu, ju. I dunno if those spellings are correct, but I'm just amazed i can still remember.

Spanish is easily the coolest language around. It sounds so awesome, and sexy too. Though the only spanish phrase i know is "Uno momento, por favor". No prizes for guessing the gist of what it means. I do like the idea of siesta's, and then you can celebrate with a fiesta, and drink tequilla. Wait, is there ANY difference between mexican and spanish?? You know, like french and canadian french. Hmmm...

The only language I can speak other than english is spanish. I'd like to learn tagalog (language spoken in the Philippines and it's pronounced ta-gah-log (long o sound). sorry some people i know tend to mispronounce it so just making it clear ) since i'm half Filipina and since my stepmom is Indonesian I'd like to learn to speak that as well. I'd also like to learn Italian, French, and German.

There are similarities, but polish and russian are still pretty different. My mom speaks Russian and I can sometimes pick up on a few words here and there, but it's tricky.
