I used to like Michael Moore, but during this years election, he totally lost his mind (like Fat Mike and every left-wing liberal in the punk scene). Creaming over Kerry and the Democrats like they could save the world, ostracizing third party canidates, What the hell happened to this guy? From now on, I'm forever disillusioned with liberals

So, heres a letter from Ralph Nader to Moore (http://www.counterpunch.org/nader12082004.html), its a good read from someone who actually had a plan, but was shunned by most of the "progressives."

And a little review/analysis of "Farenheit 9/11" (http://www.counterpunch.org/jensen07052004.html)

"Maybe the Democrats just don't want to win, because being president after George W. Bush will be like cleaning up the chimp cage after a four-year chili-and-tequila binge. Or maybe they've grown accustomed to the floggings. Whatever the reason, Kerry's almost immediate concession speech following the second-most suspicious election returns in modern history seems like a clear indication he'd rather be polite than let it rip and get his name on the Oval Office door. " You Call This a Party? Some Observations on the Democrats (http://www.counterpunch.com/tripp11062004.html)

Blame Kerry's Loss on the ABB Crowd: An Interview with Kevin Zeese (http://www.counterpunch.com/frank11272004.html)

Have fun!

I didn't check out the links or anything yet...I just wanted to say that Moore and fat-mike and all that...I never thought of them as openly supporting Kerry...I think the whole time they were just anti-Bush, pro-anyone else. I mean, I'd be ashamed to say I'm a Kerry supporter (though I did vote for him anyway)...but hey, what're you gonna do...why Bitch, the election is over.

What?! The elections are over?!
That whole anti-bush, pro-anyone else, is called "A.B.B" (Anybody But Bush) and its what Punkvoter (and almost every progressive organiziation) was all about.

The election is over people, just get over it. I know the Moron won but all that you could have done is voted.

Exactly. There's a girl from school that refuses to stand up for the pledge of allegance. She honestly believes that she's making some sort of statement by doing this. Just get over it. Bush started shit...he might as well finish it.

What does that have to do with the election? People in my high school did that too, but it wasn't anti-Bush.

haha, ya I know. You know what's interesting about the pledge...the word "god" wasn't there until the cold war started...it was to prove that we were better than the "Godless commies" according to my gov't and politics teacher.

the person that posted before me said "the election is over people" so i was commenting on post-election stuff. anyway, she wouldn't stand because of the fact that bush was elected president again.

Nader's had many letters over the past year on his website concerning Michael Moore, and for good reason too. Moore was intensely backing Nader in 2000 because of his strong stances on corporations and protecting the little people and many of the things that Nader stood for. Now, it seems that since he won the Oscar for Bowling for Columbine he's really been shortchanging a lot of the people that he's grown up on and was influenced by. As he so strongly pushed Kerry this election, he wrote letters to Nader asking him to step down, asking Nader supporters to strongly reconsider and change their vote to Kerry, etc.

Now that November 2nd has passed Moore has admitted that Kerry was not that great of a candidate, something that he must've known all along... his "documentary" and Slacker Invasion Tour failed (yes they "succeeded" in getting people out to vote, but when you're telling them "GO OUT AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! IF IT'S FOR KERRY!" is that really a good thing to be doing?), and even if you took all the third party votes and assumed that they would've gone to Kerry (which is a large assumption), he still wouldn't've won the popular vote. I find that rather funny.

So yeah, I guess that doesn't have much point to it except.... Michael Moore sucks, vote third party.

Damn right. I saw this one episode of Real Time with Bill Maher where Nader was a speical guest along with Moore. Then during the program Moore and Maher starting begging, on their knees, for Nader to NOT run for president in the 2004 election. So pathetic, it made my stomach turn and I just lost interest in Bill Maher (and Moore) after that. And also, lately Moore's become distustingly patriotic too :headshake

I mean, I might have voted Democratic if I thought that their candidate was a good choice for office, but nothing he did really showed me that he would've been a good leader.

Fact of the matter is, if Kerry had been a strong enough candidate to defeat Bush, people wouldn't have worried about third parties influencing the results. I think there were many Kerry supporters who weren't entirely optimistic, and that's why they were trying to push out anything that might distract from a Democratic president.

Then she's being stupid.

I don't say the pledge, but not for stupid reasons like that.

Im curious, what are the reasons that you do not say the pledge? Im sure this was in a thread but I'll be truly honest and am too lazy to go through the other pages and look for it.
