Jimmy Eat World - Futures....*sigh*

Does anyone else feel that the last Jimmy CD is a really good one...but somehow you still feel totally letdown everytime you listen to it?

I dont understand why....there are no bad songs...but i feel its such a letdown somehow. One part of it might be that Adkin's lyrics get worse through every album. Clarity owned all. Bleed American was...not too bad...and the lyrics on Futures just bore me completely.

I wish this cd did it for me, but it didnt.

Exactly how I feel when Iisten to it. Actually I haven't listened to it since the week that I got it and played it a number of times. I think it's because I was expecting something so great when I listened to it that I was always going to be disappointed.

I love this CD, but somehow I do feel that it is incomplete almost. As if they could've made it better, which is amazing because nearly every song on this CD is flawless in my opinion

But never the less, I still love to listen to the CD

i feel the exact same way. i've listened to the cd twice since i got it last week. i can't really bring myself to listen to it again. it's a great cd but i think i heard so many great things about it that it ended up being somewhat of a letdown.

Maybe you heard too much hype about how good it was going to be so you thought it would be completely flawless. The same thing is gonna happen with Brand new for some people i think, even though it'll no doubt be an awesome album. But everything has room for improvement.

Same here. Guitars and horns are what does it for me. If there's good lyrics, that's just like an added bonus.

I let them. Good lyrics are important. But so are good musicians. For me, a song doesn't survive unless it has both.

Althought I like JEW alot, I've always thought they were waaay overrated. They are good, but not as good as everyone makes them out to be, in my opinion. And the new cd was good, but it wasn't even close to "amazing" as alot of people said it was. Just my opinion though.

This is exactly how I feel about Futures. I thought I was the only one. I cant quite figure out what I dont like about it. It has great songs, but they arent as amazing as other JEW songs.

Night Drive is the only song that I still listen to. The rest of it is good and all, it just doesn't hold my attention at ALL.

Night Drive reminds me of Oasis.

Night Drive is an amazing song.

The weakest I think is Drugs or Me. It is the most heartfelt and the piano is beautiful, but its a bit too long which is weird because I LOVE 23 which is even longer.

I don't think there are any weak songs on the album.
