Death Cab Myspace Mishap

Apparently Death Cab For Cutie's myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfi le&friendID=5805064&Mytoken=20041231205209) has been hacked in the past couple of days. Now a message appears in the back saying they have been hacked and the bands picture is warped with the text 'We have been hacked'. On tuesday night a bulletin was posted for fans in Utah saying that Ben Gibbard would be playing a private acoustic show for family and the first 100-200 people that show up (free for myspace members and $6 for everyone else). About 50 people showed up to the show only to find that it was fake, and that it was never actually scheduled.

i'm sure tracking down someone that hacked a bands myspace page is a huge priority for law enforcement groups.

Dude you don't know how bad this sucked..we recieved these bullitens on myspace for a few weeks..i was so excited..things like this really don't happen to utah, and so when they do you have to take advantage of that....so we drove down to provo...lots of people drove more than an hour to get there...waited..the funny thing was there were people setting up things in muse music..and it was closed for the holidays..so why the heck were people there setting up things..the people inside come out and ask us what we were doing there...we say "we are here for the death cab show"..and they asked where we heard this from..we say "mysapce"...and then they say there is no show there tonight..we thought that they were just joking with us..they went back inside to do their stuff..8:30 comes and they put a sign up that said not death cab...but we all waited because things did not add up..i come home, get on myspace..leave a mean comment of the retards profile (i know it was not deathcab...so i was not meaning anything rude towards them..still love them)...it is deleted the next morning, and there is the new bulliten about sex pictures of girls..really is that death cab..i don't think so..i met ben, he is not like that..so, the summary of the night, Utah got "punkd" (is what they called it)...so, don't trust people, because people are dumb..maybe call for something if you are not sure if it is real...

but with the whole night, i still would have gone..if i would have missed the show, i would have cried..
