So I recently got a job in Boston! Here's the catch, I'm from Indiana. It's sure to be a big change as the city I'm from is a smaller town in Indiana. I'm not worried about that. I'm worry about leaving my family for the first time. I'm only 20 and I've recently dropped out of college after 4 semesters (without graduating)- the college was in my hometown by the way. I hate the idea of missing out on the lives of my younger sisters. They're only 9 and I love them more than anyone else in the world, even more than my parents and other siblings probably. Fuck, I never knew leaving home was going to be so hard. What am I to do?

I would love to do that. I don't think I would have the slightest problem with it.

Clearly the best course of action is to decline the job offer and spend the rest of your days living at home.

I'm moving out of state to portland in a few weeks for the first time so I can feel for you. I think it's important to get away from home because it'll give you a really important sense of independence. It may be hard sometimes but your family is always just a phone call away.

Ok so the plot thickened...5 days before I left for Boston, my best girl friend told me that she likes me. I tried to date her about 2 years ago but she turned me down. Since then I became fine with us just being friends and we continued to grow close. I've never been closer to another girl and I have few guy friends that I'm closer to. So we are in some kind of relationship (more than friends) now and it sucks because I'm in Boston, for who knows how long, and she is back home.

I loled at something you said. take note of it.

and to the OP -- are you in Boston already or not? in your first post, you made it sound like you hadn't left yet and your second post sounds like you have.

You know, I used to think you were a bit of a cunt. I think we may have just had a bad start. :-)

yea I moved to Boston 3 days ago. just for the record, I am trying to grow up. today kind of sucked though because I just have this gut feeling that she feels differently now and is regretting ever telling me she likes me. ??

if you should be together, you will. even if it doesn't work out right now while you're in Boston, it will eventually, if it's supposed to. my best friend lives and goes to school in Boston and loves it. you should make the best of it and not mope.

make a list of pros and cons then judge from that. think of your future. and then anal.

Move to Boston. Just push through it it'll be the best thing you've ever done I just moved away from home 3 months ago and it rules. I would love to live in fucking Boston too, you suck!

I moved out of Indiana when I was 19 for Orlando. Then, I moved to LA. Definitely a lot different than Indy, but so far, the pros outweigh the cons. The hardest part is leaving the people you love, but sometimes you just have to take a chance and hope everything works out.
