Ask them about the topics of their CD, a lot of their songs have the whole ummm like violence and killing feel. I love June, but i was just wondering if they will have more topics.

I think he was talking about the junior varsity (from central illinois - bloomington) who play in chicago a ton and were seemingly signed simultaneously and the audition (also from chicago) who were signed about a month later.

I really don't think any of them sound similar, TJV has that little synth thing going, and June has a lot of share/dualing vocal parts in their stuff where the audition is mostly just one guy with backgrounds used more for accents than carry the vocals....but you can listen for yourself

If anything, maybe June and Audition are kind of similar but that's really a stretch...I think a lot of people made a big thing of this b/c they were all signed so close to each other, they all are pretty good friends (june and the audition play together all the time) and the fact that victory is based out of chicago...I think some people think Tony may have just gotten lazy and picked average* bands out of his back yard instead of really hunting throughout the country for new talent
* I really like June and the Audition, I do not consider them average. I have yet to seee TJV live, and that's usually when I form my opinion on a band, so I'm holding off on saying I don't like them.
Edit* - Hey look at that...I'm over 1000 posts...and it only took me 3 years...sweet ass!

I played with TJV and June in November in Evansville, IN. My bnad put on a show, and we invited our friends SirReal to come out, and they brought TJV, June, and We.re All Broken along. I have to say that these two bands are great, but I do see similarities. Not too many of them, though. Overall, I prefer June, but thats just me.

Dude, great job covering that info. And to the guy who asked, I think The Junior Varsity is the best band out of the trio, and Juna is also awesome. The Audition isn't to bad, either. And TJV are soooo amazing live, great great time.

Check June out in a few days at The Downtown on Long Island, NY. They are playing with Punchline. Should be fun.

i agree, ask about topics and different approaches on recording. and june and tjv are both amazing bands. june does a lot with double vocals, and it sounds fucking rad. they also tend to not chug along at all musically, which keeps the music interesting and hooky (i dunno the word). tjv just kicks some major ass too. the synth parts are really cool and they have an original sound. the only stuff i can think that sounds halfway similar to them is maybe american football meets armor for sleep meets counterfit....but they are one of the most original bands around and are fucking amazing. both bands are super nice too. great guys.
