How did screamo and emo become a genre? Emo is short for emotional so i can kinda understand that, but screamo how did that come to be. I mean don't get me wrong screamo and emo is honestly like my favorite genre i just wanna know what significants does both have and how are related to anything.

I thought it started when Bert Mcracken and Gerard Way started kissing each other on stage. But the Pete Wentz thing sounds about right as well.
