You'd have to pay 20-25 bucks for any of these bands to headline minus The Gaslight Anthem. $37 seems about right.

debating on going twice...I love Thrice, but I'm debating on how long their set will be as they are playing behind Alk3. I'm excited for Rise Against and Gaslight though....I just can't really listen to Alk3...overplayed it too much in middle/high school and it cringes my ears now. :(.
My ticket was $33.25 and I bought it at the venue. I was just looking at buying one for a friend and it's over $40 through Ticketmaster.

46 bucks from ticketmaster, including all the garbage charges.
37 from another outlet in my city.
so stupidly expensive compared to some of the other shows i'm seeing this fall, but for 4 of my favorite bands in one go, more than worth it.

I agree with you but you're probably wasting your breath. Most morons on this site don't understand the idea of a packaged bill at a $30-35 price. If most of those bands can't around to headline it'd still be $20-25.

Are you people retarded? For a packaged tour this ticket price is NOT EXPENSIVE. Especially given other prices in the market. Any of these bands doing a headlining tour (save The Gaslight Anthem) would be $20-25. You're only paying something like a $5 premium for the other bands.

Thrice - Edgefest September 27th
01. Firebreather
02. The Messenger
03. Of Dust and Nations
04. Helter Skelter (The Beatles)
05. The Red Death
06. The Melting Point Of Wax
07. Broken Lungs
08. All That's Left
09. Silhouette
10. The Earth Will Shake
They played Edgefest with both Rise Against and Alkaline Trio. This is probably whats to come for the upcoming tour. There are a couple other songs they'll have in their setlist, including one unplayed (thus far) song from the Alchemy Index. Helter Skelter and Red Death will be continuely played throughout the tour.

Sage Francis is that one rapper guy, that's on Epitaph
he opened up for Against Me! when I saw them last fall, and his shit was pretty good actually, he taps into some pretty good issues compared to what the usual Top 40 rappers brush upon
he's also featured on the Legion of Doom Incoroporated CD, mashed up with Hands Down by Dashboard.

I think RA are doing dates with those two acts only in Canada... there's a RA/Thursday/Sage Francis show going onsale for a December show in Edmonton tomorrow. I wanted to go to another show close to me, and I remember that there are no Montreal dates posted on Alkaline Trio's myspace...
It looks like after the RA/Thrice/Trio/Gaslight tour is over there's another proper Canadian leg of Rise Against headlining, with these other bands opening instead. The last North American date of the shows with Thrice is November 23rd. This tour starts on November 30th and those openers are only listed for the Canadian shows and not the European ones that come after.

I mean the last Alkaline Trio album debuted at #13 on the charts if I remember correctly, and all of the other ALK3 albums have sold very well as well. Rise Against just doesn't seem as big as ALK3 to me(but then again I'm a huge trio fan and just a casual listener of RA). I would bet that Alkaline Trio has sold more albums than Rise Against. I just surprised that Rise Against is headling

Awesome setlist for Thrice... I just think that they have enough amazing songs that they shouldn't play covers (although I would like the hear Send me an Angel live).
Alk3 have a large diehard fanbase, however they get hardly any radioplay. Rise Against on the other hand have the fanbase plus are able to attract the radio types because they get lots of airplay. Kroq ( the most listened to Rock station in the country), for instance, had Prayer of the Refugee as the most requested song of 07. In Los Angeles, where Kroq is based, they sold out an arena in days.
Same here in Houston, Rise Against gets lots of airplay while Alk3 does not. Point being: There is a huge market of people who go to show despite only knowing the singles from the band they are going to see.

So for all of you bitching and complaining about ticket prices I've got a pretty funny story to tell you. I bought my ticket for this show about a month ago and I left it in my center console in my car until today. When i pulled it out I looked it over and realized that I only payed $4.75 for the ticket. The girl who was working the counter at FYE only charged the service charge to my debit card. Just thought i'd let you complainers know about my good fortune.

Question for people that go frequently to the Palladium. What has been the best way to meet/encounter band members that rarely visit their merch? I've noticed people at the end of a show hanging around the street where the buses are parked. Does that work? I'm really really hoping to get my Vheissu poster signed.

Gaslight was good. I don't know them too much.
Thrice had some sound issues and they messed up a few times but overall they had a really good set. The first time "The Sky Is Falling" has ever been played Dustin said. The crowd wasn't too in to them. A pretty typical but good setlist from them.
Alkaline Trio, once again, had a terrible sound mix and were quite borning. The crowd was more in to them than Thrice.
Rise Against sounded really tight and on-point. They played all the singles and probably five songs off of the new album (I was hoping to hear the song with Skiba). We left durning the encore of Swing Life Away. The crowd ate it up all set.
Overall, pretty good show. No other setlist from me.

i love the "new prog shit" (and i also love that i've actually heard someone call it "new prog shit," too) sp i'd definitely rather hear more of the alchemy index than Helter Skelter. otherwise, decent stuff.
i like that RA are playing so many new songs, too. they're probably the band i'm least into out of the 4, so i haven't really bothered to listen to any of the clips/streams yet. i'm stoked to hear this stuff for the first time.
for anyone who went today: about how long was the show/how long'd everyone play for?

it started at 7 and was over around 11:15. gaslight anthem played 8 songs and was on stage a little less than 30 min, thrice played 11 songs and was on stage a little less than 45, alkaline played 12 songs and was on about 45 and rise against came on around 10, played a little less than an hour the came back for a 5 song, twenty or so minute encore.
about half of alkaline trio's set came from their new cd, and i would've liked to hear some more older stuff, but i can't blame them for wanting to play their new material. rise against's set was pretty heavy on the sufferer & the witness. i haven't heard anything off of the gaslight anthem's "sink or swim" cd until last night so i can't help anybody there, but i do know that they played great expectations, the '59 sound, old white lincoln, and high lonesome from their new cd.

I also enjoy the setlist. I was just super happy they played The Sky Is Falling because I really didn't expect it. They played the samples (or whatever it is) to Digital Sea durning the set up but ended up not playing it, so that might be in the set. The Beatles cover was also enjoyable but it just left me wanting to hear one of many songs. Hell, I've seen them 13 times now and I still haven't heard some songs I'm dying to hear live.

for anyone in toronto going tonight (or if you just have nothing better to do):
i just got an email saying Gaslight Anthem are DJing after the show at Lee's Palace.
529 Bloor St. West, just east of Bathurst
main floor (different, dancey college kid stuff upstairs)
free of charge for gaslight.
upstairs is 6 bucks or free w/ a student ID.
they aren't paying me to say this, btw. the place is usually empty as fuck and i don't know how long they'll be sticking around for, but i figured i'd post info in case anyone's interested :)
It should be interesting to see what they play sunday..
considering its their headlining show..

I went last night and Alkaline Trio played nothing off of Crimson. They played one song off of Good Mourning, I won't spoil which one though. They played like four songs off of the new album. The rest was off of their older albums.
Their set was so much fun, one of my favourite performances of the year. Thrice was incredible too.
Not really a fan of Rise Against.

The point of this thread is to do exactly that, as a thread in the setlist forum means we want to know what songs the bands played :-p

Love Love, Kiss Kiss
Cringe
I Lied My Face Off

i had the best fucking time this weekend. my mind is post-show mush, but here's what i remember.
the trio setlist posted is just about right for friday night.
tonight (not even remotely in order):
Calling All Skeletons (1st song)
In Vein
Help Me
I Found Away
Mercy Me
Crawl
Clavicle
I Lied My Face Off
Warbrain (which matt said was off of "rock against mccain")
Radio (closer)
and one more i think
Gaslight (who were fucking amazing. again, no order):
Great Expectations (opener both nights)
Wooderson (friday only)
the '59 Sound
Old White Lincoln
The Backseat (closer both nights)
We Came to Dance
Say I Won't (Recognize)
Film Noir
and a bit of "Sweet Soul Music" (arthur conley did the original, i think)... they did more of it on friday and just threw in a line on saturday.
didn't manage to take any pics of the gaslight merch, but they had all of their albums/eps, a hoodie and 3 t-shirts. the hoodie was 35, the shirts were 20. cds, 15, the eps and 7" were 10. i think they had pins, too.
this is the hoodie: http://stores.homestead.com/gaslight/catalog/gaslight_mcollegelionhood.jpg
one of the shirts i remember was dark red and said gaslight anthem and New jersey in fairly big white letters.
i'm gonna let a pro handle the full Rise Against set, because I don't know all of their song titles. Both nights, they closed with Prayer of the Refugee and played a lot off of Tthe Sufferer and the Witness. Bricks was only played on Friday. They also played Broken English, which was the highlight of the show for me. Give It All and Like the Angel were played both nights.
they did at least 3 new songs, including Re-Education and one called Collapse.
They did a 20 minute encore w/ a new acoustic song and swing life away, and I believe Survive, The Good Left Undone, something else and then Prayer...
Liam from the Cancer Bats came out and did a bit of a song with them tonight.

You guys should just give it up and move to New York. Then, you won't have to suffer the problem of public transportation shutting down at a certain time. As an added bonus, there won't be as many annoying Red Sox/Patriots fans around. Plus, you'll get more "special" shows.
The headlining show was good.
Besides the fact there was far less people there then the less time they played here(in may), and the crowd kinda sucked. They were not that many people into to it, i was even kinda out of it (i had a very stress full week, I pretty much stood there and rocked out and sang along, maybe if other people were really into, i would of been). It was hard to feed of the crowds energy, because they didn't have any. Especially during songs like to awake. But atleast there was no idiots yelling deadbolt.

God, that headliner show setlist is awesome.
Don't expect many of those songs to make it in to this tours setlist.
I thought this show was going to be better. If I wasn't going to see Rise Against for free tomorrow, I would be disappointed in the fact that they played two songs of Revolutions Per Minute, and only four songs of off Siren Song. Also, Alkaline Trio didn't play Clavicle, which I was really looking forward to. It didn't seem like anyone was into Gaslight Anthem, which sucked, because I really like their set, again even though it was mostly new songs, and I don't really listen to Thrice, but they were entertaining to watch.

Good point. Kind of like how a band can fill a 3500-4000 place in NYC but can only do like 1500 30 miles away in Jersey.

On the other hand, it's very easy to get there from Providence. Just going down 146, it takes like 40 minutes. I would've thought that Worcester kind of being a halfway point between Providence and Boston, there'd be good turnouts, but no. Unless it's a Four Year Strong show.

Every band last night played amazing. I wished people on the floor weren't launching each into the air during Thrice's "Broken Lungs" cause they were bored, and I wish Thrice had played a few more songs.
Also, Tim from Rise Against said the first time they played the Palladium was upstairs (small room) with Boy Sets Fire, The Movielife, and Thursday...so sick.
The crowd surfing during Broken Lungs was ridiculous, I was like 2 people from the front and I kept having to turn around to make sure I didn't get kicked in the back of the head. Overall though the thrice set was real real good. The pit for RA was so sick.

On the other hand, it's very easy to get there from Providence. Just going down 146, it takes like 40 minutes. I would've thought that Worcester kind of being a halfway point between Providence and Boston, there'd be good turnouts, but no. Unless it's a Four Year Strong show.
HAHA. So true.

One of my favorite moments from last night: After Gaslights Anthem the guy in front of me yelled "Give me a drumstick!" So it got thrown right to him and he ended up wrestling on the ground with a girl for it. Of course he came out with the drum stick

November 22nd is going to be the most awesome night this year, well for me anyway.
Does anyone have a more complete Rise Against set list?

That Thrice list seems a little bulky, more like a headlining show. Anyone know if that is correct?

this is their headlining show set, but this still...unbelievable. I love how they switch up their sets every show usually too, it's nice to be able to go to two concerts and hear different things.

I just got back from the Myspace Secret Show in Cambridge, MA. Nothing really to report setlist-wise, as it was basically the same as it's been, except Ian played some acoustic songs before the show started, so they didn't do them at the start of the encore (rather, where the encore should have been...the venue was so tiny they couldn't really leave the stage for an encore so they just kept playing). They also played their Minor Threat cover (which I think blows) right before "Prayer..." (the show closer). Nevertheless, it was really cool to see them in a tiny place, with no barrier, backdrops or insane lights.
My College actually bought a bunch of tickets and is selling them to students for $20... I spent $32 like a week before they put this deal out.. Gay.
I'm assuming you go to SIUE too.,..I was in the same boat as you, and those $20 tickets sold out pretty fast too

Here is what I believe Thrice played in Worcester on 10/6 , correct me if I'm wrong, I also didn't know one of the track names:
The Messanger
The Melting Point of Wax
Broken Lungs
Some track off of Illusion of Safety or Identity Crisis that I didn't know.
Firebreather
Blood Clots and Black holes
Of Dust and Nations
The Sky is Falling
Helter Skelter (beatles cover)
The Earth Will Shake
The order could be wrong too, but I think that's it.

they didn't play an encore, they just kept playing.
but that may have been because a couple of hours before this show they played an acoustic set at Newbury Comics and played
