I've been sick and listening to music all week, and so many times I thought to myself "This is a great band for Sunday recommendations." And then, of course, I forgot those bands. But this is what I can remember...
Owen (http://www.polyvinylrecords.com/bands/band_info.asp?bandID=10) - purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/owen) - Mike Kinsella is an amazing vocalist/song writer who has been in a countless number of bands over the last decade. His latest EP "I Do Perceive" is amazing, if you haven't listened to it...please do.
The Decemberists (http://www.decemberists.com) - purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/thedecemberists) - This is a very interesting indie band out of Portland, Oregon. The sound is very indie meets pop with a touch of odd, but I love them. Check out the song "July, July".
The Format (http://www.theformat.com) - purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/theformat) - When I listen to their album it gets stuck in my head all week. This stuff is pop/indie music that is unbelievably catchy. "Tune Out" will haunt you in your sleep.
Pedro The Lion (http://www.pedrothelion.com) - purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/pedrothelion) - A lot of you have probably already heard Pedro the Lion, but if you haven't check out the songs "Arizona" and "Foregone Conclusions". They are two of my favorite songs ever. Their purevolume site has 29 songs up for download, becuse they're fucking cool like that.
As always, thanks for taking the time to check these out.
