This week has been pretty busy, so I haven’t been listening to a lot of music, but here are a few bands that I came across this week that I think you guys might like.
This Providence (http://www.purevolume.com/thisprovidence) – Scott sent me their album the other day, and I can’t stop listening to it. His vocals and lyrics are amazing.
June (http://www.purevolume.com/june) – One of the new bands of the victory records family. I am really impressed with what I have heard so far, and the vocals are so refreshing from all the music that is out there these days.
Showbread (http://www.showbread.net) – I have been listening to this band for some time now, but I can’t get over how sassy and in your face the music is. It’s a little bit of The Hives and The Blood Brothers in one band, so if you like both or either one of those bands they might be for you.
M. Ward (http://www.giantsand.com/mward/) - I saw this guy play a couple years ago with Rilo Kiley and blew me away with his powerful voice. If your into stuff like Bright Eyes and more of that folky stuff then you should check this guy out.

listening to showbread makes me feel like i'm on acid at church. it gives me the squirmies.
I dont see how you think june's vocals are different than anyone else's.
It's dual vocals by two guys who sound exactly alike.
When I first heard them i thought they sounded just like FOB.
They're still fun to listen too.

Last night on Austin City Limits they actually had Bright Eyes playing, and M. Ward played on most of the songs with him along with Mike Mogis and the guy from My Morning Jacket

No way! I was trapped in my house for 3 days last week because of it.

Heh... I would have been, but we have new snow tires on our car, so we were having a jolly old time with them. Just watch out at 114th and Davenport... :headshake

yeah that song O'Brien they played was awesome. I'm going to have to check out more from M. Ward now, and Austin City Limits rules. I can't wait for Modest Mouse/Guided by Voices and The Pixies.
