What's up peoples, my hard drive crashed on my computer so I've had minimal time on the computer this week, which sucks. Below are my recommendations and Phil Sneed, guitarist for Story of the Year (http://www.storyoftheyear.net), was nice enough to lend a helping hand and give a couple of bands he's been listening to lately.
Caleb's Recommendations
Mourning September (http://www.purevolume.com/mourningseptember)-This band hails from Tulsa, Ok, home of bands such as The Agony Scene and Philmore. Very catchy band that I honestly have not stopped listening to since they sent me their album. If you are a fan of Further Seems Forever (http://www.furtherseemsforever.com), you will find Jon Bunch lending his vocals on a couple of tracks.
Remember Sammy Jenkis (www.myspace.com/remembersammyjenkis)-Words can not descrive the level of awesomeness of this artist.
Four Letter Lie (http://www.purevolume.com/fourletterlie)- Post Hardcore band from Minnesota, fans of Underoath check them out.
Number One Gun (http://www.purevolume.com/numberonegun)-Formerly on Floodgate Records, recent signee with Tooth and Nail. Their album, Celebrate Mistakes, was my release from all the crap going on in my life last year.
His Love Fellowship (http://myspace.com/hislovefellowship)-This band features Stephen Till from the band Roper, and his wife Leanor Ortega Till, who was a member of Five Iron Frenzy. If you enjoy Mates of State,I definately urge you to give this amazing couple a listen.
Phil's Recommendations
Mew (http://www.mewsite.com)-Some buddies in Anberlin (http://www.anberlin.com) have been telling me about them for some time. I've been so involved with rock music I needed something different and this was the perfect thing for me. A much needed sigh of relief came to me in a pill called Mew.
Sophomore (http://www.purevolume.com/sophomore)-Sophomore is a group of some of the most genuine dudes in the business today. They write absolutely great music, and are actually top-notch musicians that dont overwrite a single bit and leave you wanting more every time. Which is the goal of a good writer as far as I'm concerned.. I love the band and the work ethic behind them, which combined with the good writing, in my eyes, is the perfect combination in todays rock band.
