View Full Version : Worst Live Frontman

Like the title says, state the vocalist's name and why you think they are the worst. first had experiences are welcomed!
For myself it is a tie, between Charles Furney of Secret and Whisper and Adam Lazzara of TBS. Furney is good on record, but live he just has to stand there and focus solely on his vocals. even then he doesn't hit the notes that he does on record.
Lazzara on the other hand is all about acrobatics and acting like he is on an acid trip. there has been numerous shows where he has climbed rafters and hung from random places. not really caring about singing at all, just fooling around.

Oooh I like this thread.
I'm going to have to say early on that Dustin Kensrue just doesn't exhibit a whole lot of personality on stage. Not to say it's a bad show, he just seems like a more reserved dude.

But so much passion when he sings!
I don't need the lead vocalist to make quips.

I don't like Circa Survive's music one bit, but I went to see them with Ours and The Dear Hunter and was consistently entertained with all of the crazy shenanigans they were doing what with the projected images on the screen and balloons and whatnot. It really kept people like me occupied and I'd pay to see them again.

charles from secret and whisper. watch how he doesn't do a thing when the rest of the members are rocking out. generally though, he does move around, but he's stalking like a chicken. can't find the vid, but secret and whisper in general is a terrible band

true...ok how about if secret and whisper and saosin went on tour together (have they?) and cove invited charles to sing on like seven year or some other white ep song.
gotta admit that A LOT of people would have their wish granted, then a new vocal comparison would be made.

It's interesting to see how you can tell how exciting a person is onstage by how much they're into the music. Maybe if this dude from Secret & Whisper replaced Cove he'd be the next AG.
My vote goes to Anthony Keidis. He's into it obviously, but he acts like a complete jackass and is really annoying. Also Thomas Erak is just a dick to the crowd.

I have no idea, it was literally only for about half a minute, very brief.
He was very smiley though, and onstage he seemed quite cocky, "I am God" sort of thing, could've easily been down to drink.

I'm really surprised people are saying Dustin. His voice is near perfect live (and it's not an exact replica of the cd...he switches shit up, which is awesome). I know he doesn't constantly rock out, but mind you, he is playing guitar and when there's no lyrics, you'll see him jam out. Plus on songs like Digital Sea he's all over the stage with that CV of his.
I guess maybe seeing Dustin Kensrue without Thrice, might not be that entertaining, as I'm sure he would sit there and just play. But, most acoustic performances are like that anyways.

I've no idea (nor do I care) what his name is but the guy who fronts Evaline...I don't know if they're even around any more but I had the bad luck to get there in time for their set on Taste of Chaos a few years ago. I'm fairly sure he was on every drug known to man, and not in the entertaining, "I'm high and acting ridiculous" kind of way, more the "I'm high and I just can't get over how cool these stage lights are" kind of way.
Boys Night Out, Radke-era Escape The Fate and 30 Seconds to Mars all spring to mind as well. Someone really needs to tell Leto he can't sing to save his life.
