Want to see some great new band photography? Check out Alexa Lambros (www.alexalambros.com), she has recently shot great bands like Coheed And Cambria, Underoath, Brand New and The Faint. Her site also features some other awesome shots she's done (non-band related). Check it out!

the band photos are alright. it's interesting to see brand new recording in a kitchen though.
maybe that's where the magic happens.

i like the site layout and how it automatically cycles through the photos for you. the intro might be a little much..

i think they're practicing. the only thing they've ever recorded in a kitchen are the acoustic song on the quiet things uk cd (car and moshi moshi).

The site sounds are really annoying, especially since my volume was turned up from something else.
Some of those photos are rather cool.
I didn't think the band ones were anything too special...I have some good shots of bands I've seen, but I like her style...
Here are a few (huge file sizes, sorry)

http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/m/d/mdk5009/CB078.jpg (Mest, lighting is cool)
http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/m/d/mdk5009/OAR064.jpg (OAR, grainy at normal size)

http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/m/d/mdk5009/FOB082.jpg (FOB from a while ago, notice the other guy haha)
The last two are my old camera...I have a ton more, but I'll spare you.
Also, those won't be up long, I don't like keeping random stuff on my webspace.
And again, sorry about the huge file sizes, hopefully your browser resizes them.

I did use a Canon Powershot (A60 I believe...it was a Christmas present last year, and only 2 megapizels). It was, however, a very good camera and got me really interested in photography.
After a lot of research I recently purchased a Canon Powershot S60, which is 5 megapixels and a damn good investment. I want to start doing some black and white, I'm a huge fan of it, and I love scenery pictures. I have a ton from when I recently flew to California...
Here are two sample ones, I have so many great pictures on my comp, I'm trying to get some online albums together to showcase them. ...however, I have this medical condition called "lazy" thats been keeping me from doing it.

lol. yeah i suffer from that too. i like your pictures. I have a Minolta Z1...it sucks. I love photography though. So once I get a job I plan on investing in a better camera, which is why I asked about yours. Thanks.

I love your site! Nice job. I'm trying to redesign my bands site right now, and yours just inspired me to keep working. Your pictures are nice too.
Another question for curiosity's sake...
How do you all get to bring cameras in? I would love to take pictures of bands, but none of our main venues allow you to bring in cameras.

I don't know about the girl who's website that is, but I guess I've just gotten lucky with it. At the Say Anything show there was a big sign that said no cameras but they had no security at the door and didnt say anything when I started taking pics. I guess its just hit or miss. I don't know what I would do if they made me hand over my camera though.

that response was actually directed towards amirrorsmemory. lol. But I do love your pictures nonetheless. and thanks for the answer about bringing your camera in. I guess I could probably just start small and take pictures for local bands at some of the smaller venues. the House of Blues security here is neurotic. Hard Rock Live is slacking. Thanks again.

well, no venues here do pat-downs or care about cameras, but in other cities i've experienced that if you can sneak the camera in successfully, the security inside doesn't care.
unless it's a taking back sunday show, in which case you're likely to get yelled at by both security and adam, because adam hates people taking pictures at shows (which i think is why they had all that lighting on the last tour, to make pictures hard to take).

thanks for the kind words. to answer your question, most places ive been allow cameras, some ive had to sneak mine in. i like shooting smaller shows much better because youre usually able to get closer to the band and theres more space to move around and do a lot more.

Did you mention what kind of camera you use?
Sorry if its on your site, I'm too lazy to go back and look.
I've had a lot of luck with Canon as mentioned before, and I thought long and hard before shelling out $400 for the S60. It was either a new camera or an i-Pod, and I chose the camera.
Here is all about the camera I own...

That site is great for digital camera reviews and news. If anyone is thinking about buying a new (or first) camera, they shoudl check that site out.

That's what the volume control is for, I think the sounds are cool - they remind me of a warehouse.
Great photography! How did she get into the kitchen to take those pics of Brand New?
