I've never been more torn on an album than Teenage Dream. I love the music, the production is fabulous and she has a great voice. But her lyrics are so unbearably awful that I have trouble getting through a single song let alone the record. So frustrating.

Like I want to LOVE "Last Friday Night" but every time the lyrics actually register, I cringe. I'll probably still end up with the record, but christ I wish she wasn't such a terrible lyricist.

Eh. Doesn't do anything for me. Her appeal for me has never been as a rocker. I dig the songs on the record that are so dripping in 80's-ness they could have been on a Rocky soundtrack. Like "Hummingbird Heartbeat."

I surprised myself by actually really digging this album."Firework", "Teenage Dream", and "Circle The Drain" are by far my favorites followed by "ET" and "Who Am I Living For". If you take it as face-value and not some masterpiece you might just like it. It's decent catchy pop with fantastic production.
