There has probably been a thread earlier about this but I am just curious as to what peoples take are for the top 10 bands in the fields of rock, alternative, metal and punk rock. thanks, Im looking for new bands to listen to so this would help.

you know years before i joined this site, i would have said without a doubt that brand new was my favorite band...and while they certainly are up there still, i've got to be honest- all the people on here who comment about brand new constantly or whore them around any chance they get (and especially those who recently jumped on the bandwagon and do this) have really turned your once respectable brand new fan into a stereotypical apnet fanboy of brand new. i almost feel like i'm just a bland music fan with a limited music collection when i put them on a list like this. it's a shame cause i love this band...come to think of it, i guess this is similar to how all of us old fall out boy fans felt when from under the cork tree came out, just on a smaller scale.

I couldn't agree more, AP.Net does fanboy a lot of bands. Sucks that it effects the way we listen to some of them. Such as Thrice everyone here loves Thrice and I'm not a huge fan of them so I feel there is something wrong with me haha. I guess it's just a crowd thing. Awesome list though.
