I actually don't think it's a half bad idea haha. It's only a voluntary thing and includes men also. You have to admit there are way too many stupid people breeding and abusing the system.

I see nothing wrong with trying to give incentives to lower income people to not procreate as long as they are not being forcefully being told to do so.

I understand that it is voluntary, but I really do not think that someone's social standing is a judge of how their offspring will turn out. I came from a lower class family and my mother did cocaine while she was pregnant with me, I didn't turn out to be a drain on society. At the same time my friend Brandon comes from an upper class family and his mother produced a son with Autism. Should she be sterilized? Is she a detriment to humanity because she made a son with the intellectual capacity of a 6 year old? No.

Procreation is a fundamental right, no one has any right to take that away and anyone who would voluntarily give it up because they have been told they are a second class citizen is insane. And shame on anyone who thinks this is a logical way to solve Society's problems.

And shame on anyone who thinks this is a logical way to solve Society's problems.haha i agree with you but let me expand on my original comment. i don't believe that lower income people are any dumber than wealthier ones, but it does seem the average size of a lower income family is higher than that of a higher income. At least with the higher income family they are able to provide for the children without everyone else having to pay for it. I am not anti-welfare and lower income families have just as much a right to have a family as anyone else, but let's say after they have 2-3 kids and the government gives them tax incentives to "get fixed" to try to curb the dependency on welfare, i think that would be ok.

The Nazis steralised everyone actually. Criminals, Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals (lol I know), Drunks, Unemployed, Promiscous women, Disabled People (both mental and physical) etc... Basically anyone who wasn't the model for a perfect citizen, which makes this even scarier because it's even closer to this idea.

Well this is an interesting debate.

Im not sure if sterilising poor women simpy becasue they are poor is neccessarily such a good idea. however, i think procreation licsenses possibly have some merit. in a world where which is rapidly becoming overpopulated, and one in which aridable land is decreasing, and poverty and starvation increasing, i see that something needs to be done.currently there is no restrictions on births, at least not in the western world. i think that something like a procreation liscense may well be on the cards at some point in the future.

i do realise this also has some moral issues associated with it. people judging others and deciding whether or not they are allowed to have children. who has the right to do this?? its a good question and i see this having the potential of becoming very eliteist. i dunno.
