If you have been a fan of The Sloppy Meateaters (http://www.sloppymeateaters.com) for years and years and are frustrated that they never come to your area, then this is your time! For a small nominal fee (to get them from show to show) they will come to your house and play an acoustic set to you and your friends. You can have a party, or you can keep them all to yourself. You can charge admission, or you can have it open to the public. They don't care. If this has striken your fancy, please read the replies for details.

Email booking@sloppymeateaters.com if you are interested. We won't know when this will take place yet, it all depends on how many people want us to come to their house. We'll do our very very best to go to every single fan that emails us.

In the meanwhile, we're heading out in February with our new friends Whole Wheat Bread (jacksonville FL). I hope to see you at a show, and we're doing a big national tour in March/April.

I wish every band would do something like that, I would be so broke though.

Yellowcard almost came to our school but then Ryan Key broke his fucking jaw. Thats when they brought in the more talented Pete from over it to fill in. Oh well. I wasn't too disapointed.
Same thing with Simple Plan, they almost came to our school to play. I wasn't too disapointed about that when they didn't show up either.

Why thanks everyone. I thought it was a pretty good idea too. I awoke from a dream where we were doing a bedroom acoustic tour. It makes sense. We constantly get emails saying "Come to my town" but their town is always out of the way or completely podunk, and you are right - more bands should do this. Maybe we'll start a trend.

ps - tall man - you may very well be right, or you may very well be wrong, but isn't that the case with anything in this godless universe?

I hope I AM wrong, but I'm the cautious ex-music industry type. I even actually like your band too, especially the Britney Spears butt-fucking song from Warped 2001. Funny shit.

yeah, this is one of the coolest things ever. hopefully some rich kid gets them to come to his/her house, pays them like $10,000, has them play in their creepy basement and stares at them while petting a cat...i dunno, but there could be some akward moments.

Our band has always been outside of the industry. Although we've done big shows here and there, the thing we're most proud of is that we built a GLOBAL fanbase one fan at a time. We owe it to our fans for sticking with us during our 2 year "Absence" We have a BIG BIG BIG new record coming out this spring. It will shock and awe your expectations.

Yeah, the SME that used to sing about butt fucking brittany spears is long gone.

We've evolved and are more mature......

that's why we sing about butt fucking Condy Rice & Nicole Kidman now!

heh

ps - if someone pays us 10 grand I'll play the skin flute at tnext years superbowl.

The way I live and consume, I could live a few years like a King with 10 grand. I'm low maintence. As long as I have my HBO and fast internet connection I'm set.

would they serenade our girlfriends for us? That would be awesome, as long as they don't get the girlfriends to fall in love with them. On second thought....nevermind.

That's an awesome idea!
I think it would be cool if, say you got an e-mail from a local band to play, you like played in their basement not acoustically using their gear...or not?

None taken my midnightvulture friend

Although I almost guarentee if/when you hear our new stuff, you might just change your mind. I probably wouldn't like us that much either if we still sounded like we did a few years ago. The music has really evolved quite a bit.... Danny from PunkRadio Cast says "I am very shocked and impressed both at the same time. I love it." and let's face it Danny knows his stuff =)

---

Yes you can record it anyway you'd like, and we'll even serenade the girlfriends. No worries from me, I'm spoken for, but I can't speak for the others!! heh

"I am a sick man. ... I am a spiteful man. I am an unattractive man." Dostoevsky's Notes from the Underground

http://www.online-literature.com/dostoevsky/notes_underground/1

Follow the link and read the rest. It's fantastic. I believe Sloppyjedi (along with a lot of you) could use a good dose of Existential-humanistic philosophy to counteract all the pollution you recieve from pop culture on a daily basis

why are you quoting dostoyevsky when I have a dostoyevsky quote tatooed into my arm? I know notes... But i actually think the translations that pevear and volokhonksy do to his work are much better. even though their version of the amazing opening reads a little bit 'less cool'

"I am a sick man... I am a wicked man. An unattractive man" their translations are much better and have much more heart than the other translations ive read. As long as we're recommending books to eachother. read "white noise" by delillo. almost anything by gabrial garcia marquez, and gogul, read lots of gogul by the same translators as i mentioned above.. "dead souls" is my favorite. and as long as you liked fast food nation. check out reefer madness by schlosser, you might like the whole drug section. it made me feel like a loser for not smoking pot.
