The Mars Volta are pretty good, can't say I've listened to them THAT much, but the few times I've listened to Frances the Mute it's been pleasant.

Are they still going?

the mars volta are alright. they tend to lean towards prog rock a lot and i hate that shit.

have you heard brian jonestown massacre? they're one of my favorite revivalist/psych bands right now.

Dr. Dog is good. I don't know if they're necessarily psychadelic rock though, even though it says so on their Myspace and on some reviews I've read.

Can't talk about psychadelic without mentioning Acid Mothers Temple and all it's different forms (& Melting Paraiso UFO / SWR / etc.)

Wow, just my thread! I've been recently into a ton of Psych Rock. One band you must check out is Bardo Pond. Good lord, their music is so beautiful.

IF we go into older psych rock I'd have to suggest Spacemen 3. Good fuzzy ambient jams.

For a more post-rock sound, go for Paik. Hugo Strange is their best album.

And if we want some pure fucking stoner jams, I always go for Kyuss or Om.

Hipster?
ROFL.

Never heard of those guys. Most people in general don't know Syd, and especially not those born in the '90s.

Eh. Only psychedelic stuff I'm into is from the 60s and 70s. Oh and there is Casket Salesmen. More prog anyway.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre would have to be my favorite band at the moment. 'Their Satanic Majesties Second Request' is Brilliant.

Every psychadelic album from the past twenty years has been influenced from my man Syd.
So cool your jets. I agree on the BJM and warlocks mentioned. they're both amazing. circulatory system is pretty badass.
