FivePie (http://www.5pie.net) are currently looking for a drummer that lives within an hour of Norwood, PA (outside of Philly). They have plans to tour in March and the Summer and are way too anxious to get playing (they have plans for a tour of Europe shaping us as well). Check them out on Purevolume (http://www.purevolume.com/fivepie) and then email Ryanb@5pie.net if you are interested.

I just don't think I could drum for a band called FivePie...I mean, what the hell??? Also, I don't live in PA and have next to ne drumming experience...I'm just saying.

Its too bad too, cause they sound like the poppy Finch with different cool poppy-punk vocals. Kinda like Kenny from the Starting Line meets Fifteen, or something...

Whoever starts drumming for these guys should convince them to change their name.

People need to lay off of names. Listen to the music. The only thing that can be told from a band name is their originality. (i.e. if a band is named In Dying Arms, you know they aren't too original) Listen to the music. Take music for music. Not liking a band for their name represents so much of what is wrong with music today. It is just as bad as MTV not airing a band because they are not cool enough, or because they are not what "the kids want to hear these day." Corporate rock take-over and scenesters only caring about what is scene and cool have caused people to not like something for their face-values. The "scene" was created about new ideas and freedom from constraints that bind people into liking or not liking something based on what American media has told them to think. Don't be the very fake that you claim to hate.
While a cover to a book may tell you something about they genre of the book, it does not tell you how good the book is. (how about that play on an old cliche?)

if you don't like the band, fine, but at least give them their originality.

Thanks to everyone who i/m us about trying out it really means alot :) We hope to be back on our feet soon. About our name.....We thought about changing our name a few times, but after our friend Shaggy passed away(the one who created the name) we just felt we should just keep it. Its more of a dedication to him now. Maybe if we made our name KnivePie.... :smash: that could make people happy, but we rather just annoy you with a bad name :)

Thanks again to everyone who replied to this news post. Even the ones who replied about not liking our name :)

And special thanks to chris march

Goodnight

how bout you listen to their music instead of bitching about the name

these guys are our good friends, have already toured a bit, and are fucking amazing musicians...and they're only in high school! check them out www.purevolume.com/fivepie
it would seem in the quoting of my post above yours that I DID listen to them...and I LIKE them, too...I like the Sloppy Meateaters as well, but you'll never get me to like the name...I can like bands whos names suck...thanks, though.

Greetings. Doug Life here.

Five Pie is the greatest band I've heard in a long time. And for the record I love their name.

That is all.
