I think it's a trip downhill,

Personally I think Pretty. Odd. is a horrible, horrible attempt at an album, whereas Fever is pretty good.

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was great stuff, but you can't make the same album twice, so I'm glad they switched it up for Pretty. Odd.

Either way its gonna be horrible.

P.S. The used are easily the worst band in the world. Didn't think you would ever hear that from a utahn but those emo fuckers can die.

I won't pretend to harbor any love for PIAD...I liked the first record...kinda....but, Pretty Odd...this album is SO pretentious I just cant handle it at all. The sound, the videos, the CLOTHES?! All scream The Beatles...if you're going to totally rape a classic bands' identity, maybe aim a little lower. Jethro Tull perhaps? Now everyone with a discriminating taste can smell this awful rip off from a block away.

note:I don't hate Jethro Tull, for all you JT die-hards

I wasn't a big fan of the first album. It was good, but not something I listen to that often. Their new album I've gone through a ton of times and love it more every time I listen.
I don't like how everyone compares them to the Beatles. The Beatles were another time and it's an insult to compare any band to them.

I still enjoy Fever as much as I did when it came out. I've only listened to Pretty. Odd. a few times but I just can't get into it beyond one or two songs :shrug:

This. AFYCSO was pretty terrible. Pretty. Odd. was actually pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. And seriously, people need to get off of the fake Beatles train. If that's the best complaint that you can come up with, you may as well be complaining the heck out of Oasis.

i totally agree with this. i could only listen to Fever a few times and it would get old but Pretty. Odd. stays in heavy rotation on my ipod. its very positive music and it makes me happy. (:

i HATED fever.
and i like pretty.odd. only because i love the beatles'.
to me, i dont care that they are "raping" the beatles' sound.
I just really like that sound, no matter who it comes from.
they could have been a little less obvious tho lol

Can you just call it "Pretty Odd" instead of "Pretty. Odd."? It's fucking annoying.

Edit: I haven't heard anything off new album besides a 10 second clip of their video followed by a swift lunge for the remote.

Pretty.Odd. is so much better than Fever it's not even funny. Better melodies, great harmonies, more creative instrumentation, better vocals, less "processed" sound, and just more inspired sound overall... I don't see any way that Fever is better.

People just hated Pretty.Odd. because they wanted more generic emo/dance songs for their MySpace page and new lyrics for their away messages... and I'm so glad Panic gave a big middle finger to those people. Is it a Beatles ripoff? Definetly not. Is there Beatles INFLUENCE? Most definetly. But there's alot of other great 60's artists you can hear influence from as well, like Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys and maybe some Bob Dylan. To me it sounds more like the soundtrack to some old school animated Disney movie than it does The Beatles though. But overall, it's still catchy as hell and over the top, which seems to be Panic's signature style.

And for people who say P.O. "isn't them", your so wrong. Look at them during the Fever era: they were unhappy. They thought people were just into them for their looks, and they always looked real stern and serious in interviews. Now if you watch them, they seem like they enjoy what their doing so much more and are alot happier playing their music.

In short, Panic discovered how to have fun and be themselves.
