I just read news that at Disney's big event today that Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for Pirates 4. This, of course, will happen after he films Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and The Lone Ranger.

I am probably in the minority, but I am extremely excited for another Pirates movie. The 3rd one lacked big time, but I still enjoyed it.

I found the first Pirates to be enjoyable, but the second and third were the most boring films I've seen. Took me five watches to get through the third.

I don't know about this. I think I've had enough.

I find the Pirate films enjoyable but I don't want another one. But maybe they'll film in St. Augustine, FL, if they do follow the Ponce De Lion storyline at the end of the third film.

The first one was the best. From there it went downhill. Third one sucked, but I'd probably be dumb enough to sit through a forth. Only because he's great at playing Jack.

Never a fan of the films, but I enjoyed his character. Just do a Captain Sparrow spin off with new characters. Normally I'd be against it but it could actually come out pretty good.

Eh, I liked the second the best, followed by the first. The 3rd was terrible, almost fell asleep during it.

The problem with Pirates 3 was that Hollywood knew that coming off of Pirates 2 that they needed to shit out another sequel. Giving this new one some time, maybe will be it's aging for perfection.

That's cool.I really enjoy the POTC movies, although the last one was kind of a let down.I think I'd be more excited if they were doing a prequel. But they would never do that since there would be no Orlando Bloom or Keira Knightley, although I don't see how they can incorporate Bloom's character into the movie too much now.But I guess it will be about Jack trying to find the fountain of youth.

Alice in Wonderland scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.But the reprised version should be pretty awesome.

but you are looking at it wrong.

charlie is based off the book 100%, Burton stayed true to the original story the way that he envisioned it when he read the books.

willy took the basic plotline and edited it a bit, and made it into an amazing movie.

charlie is not a remake of willy... they are two different takes on the same story. And when I watch either movie I think of it that way, two very well done versions of a very good book

I think it's even worse standing on its own. It's just another Tim Burton film full of all his cliches and heavy-handedness.

Get Geoffrey Rush back and make sure he is in it a ton. The movies are just ok but i love Barbossa.

Formula for a good Pirates of The Caribbean movie-

Johnny Depp - Orlando Bloom (or at least very small amounts of him) +Geoffrey Rush+ no slapstick + minimal amounts of Keira Knightley + a good story involving some cool but not ridiculous complicated and over the top pirate mythology + lots of bucaneering= good stuff.

If it follows said formula I'll take it.

i think the second one was the best, but the problem i had with the third is they made everything to cheesy. Every point of that film that couldv'e been great was ruined by something retarded they through in.
like that fight scene when Orlando & Keria were doing their vows, that was painfully stupid.

I think it works as a trilogy. I don't want to see it become some kind of stupid franchise where all of the movies that were subsequently written for the pay out are shitty and the characters are never played by the same actors twice in a row.

I heard that they weren't getting Kiera or Orlando for the 4th one. Kiera said she's done with them and Orlando doesn't have a storyline without her.

I agree to the prequel idea, Geoffery Rush + Depp as leads would make a great movie.

I'm surprised to see people say this. I honestly hated Corpse Bride. I thought the concept, songs, and the singing were really bad. Aside from the scary fanboys and girls, I love Nightmare Before Christmas because of the settings, music, and the concept is pretty creative, I thought. I love how Burton came up with it too.
